Can anybody give an estimate what this revolver is worth? Nice blue finish with no scratches. Handles are checkered plastic. Writing on top of barrel Colt's PT. F. A. MFG CO. Hartford, CT
Patented August 5, 1884, June 5, 1900, July 4, 1905

Has the Colt name in the handles and the Colt logo on the side. It is a six shot.
Thanks

NN

ETA: there is about a half inch chip out of the bottom of one of the grips.

It sounds like the pre war version with (presumably) black plastic grips. Is it a .38sp (Police Positive Special) with the longer cylinder or a Police Positive in the older .38SW/.38 Colt NP with the shorter cylinder?
I have one, a PPS with the 5" bbl, one like yours in better shape would fetch probably in the low $400 range in my locale. The Police Positive is sort of a hidden gem, they don't get the prices of the more well known Det Specials or Diamondbacks built on the same frame.

It is the short cylinder Berto. I saw some prices but most we're for .22 or .38 special. Thanks for the reply.
