I just picked up a Nano for the wife. I tried a couple different type rounds though it. I know the +P stuff is going to be a little to sharp for her in the recoil department. For now I'm settling on the 147 SXT. However, I was wondering if a non +P 124 grain might be a little softer shooting yet. Anyone have experience shooting these side by side?

On the other hand, from what I read the Nano tends to work better with the stouter loads, though I can't imagine any defense ammo being too weak. :dunno:

TIA. :wavey:

The softest shooting premium JHP ammo in 9mm for me has been the 124-grain standard pressure Remington Golden Saber.

The possible glitches are 1) very low velocity out of a short barrel pistol, and 2) core/jacket separation of the non-bonded Golden Saber round.

I keep begging for some credible gel tests of Fiocchi's 115-grain Extrema XTP round that proved to be by far the most accurate and robust round when I owned a sub-sub-compact pistol. The box carried the CIP logo instead of the SAAMI one, and if shot placement is paramount this round was excellent for my meager skills.

Have you shot the 124 GS round next to a 147? If so, how did they compare?

The non +p 115 grain loads in 9mm are very soft shooting as well.

We carried Remington 115 grain jhp (green box) for years and this was a nice, soft shooting load. There was a noticeable difference when we switched over to 124 grain Gold dots.

My Wife likes shooting the softer stuff too. The best deal for what you are looking for was on here yesterday... 147 Ranger-T. Virtually Subsonic with low recoil and deadly! It's what I keep for her.

Yep, I think that's what I'll stick with. I actually chrono'd some this AM.

What did you get? I have 4" and 4.75" results.
Average a little over 880 FPS through the small guns, and 936 FPS through my 4" VP9. Posted the actual velocities HERE. What were your results?

I've read same for the +P GS loads, too. I use 'em (NO, not for that reason!) but because they are reliable, have "street cred" and are usually easy to find.

Weird. I have shot this load, too, and I found it the hottest, snappiest 9mm load I have ever shot.
I shot Corbon 115 +P in my P938, and felt it was pretty snappy as well. I'd imagine it would be soft in G17 though.
