I carry one pistol that has a natural stainless finish on it. I also carry several others that have the factory black finish on them. I find myself wanting to have the natural stainless coated with a black finish. Just my preference.

Ok I get the Chevy/Ford reference. I'm relatively new to handguns, though not long guns. I never knew handgun owners were so passionate. On one hand they call it just a tool, but it's their tool the way they want it. Got it.

It's pretty typical amongst owners of brand name "machines".

There's usually a fair amount of snobbery involved with the whole thing with owners looking down their nose at people who own "lesser" brands.

Like motorcycles, Harley guys look down on jap bikes, and crotch rocket guys who ride Kawasakis look down on Hondas or Suzukis and vice versa.

Same with guys who own guns, 1911 guys look down on Glocks, Glock guys ridicule Rugers etc..........

We all consider our choices and decisions to be the correct ones or we wouldn't have made them, therefore anyone who chooses something else must be an idiot!

I don't deny that exactly that happens, however I have found that when you meet up with other riders out in the middle of nowhere, both outfitted for extended travel, it matters little to them what brand of bike they are riding. Similar to those who really shoot a lot and have for a long time, they're more impressed with what you can do with your pistol than what brand it is or how much it cost. JM2c

My Talo EXO G27 is nickel plated.
Thousands of rounds and it still looks like new.
Super easy to clean.
What's not to like?

My Sig P220 is factory nickel plated too.
And the song remains the same.

Nickel plating is alright by me...

Because it's not black. :whistling:

Why one must pimp out a Glock to cater to hollywood zealots? Just leave it those older revolvers.
I am a country boy that pulled baccer growing up, got my first payroll job at 16 on the dock of a trucking company, and served 6 years in the Navy. My Granddaddy fought in WW1, and all my kinfolks served. I ain't from Hollywood and I don't know what in the deuce you are talking about son. :)

I enjoy Glocks left all black or two tone. When the cosmetic blacking on my aging G27 had too much "character", I went with Cerakote. If my other Glock(s) ever do the same, I'll be calling CCR or other reputable company for Nickel/Boron.

Even tho my Glocks are tools, I prefer to take advantage of options to keep them looking as new. I completely understand why others don't feel the same.

Because...simply put...it is not necessary...save the $ you would spend on the Nickel/Boron finish and buy more ammo or better yet, attend an advanced training class
The Glocks may be more, but I paid the same price for the nickel 1911 two tone as I would for the black one. Besides, the extra cost won't break me up. I am looking for extra training as well since I am disabled, but one on one would cost me more than one of my handguns for two hours. I look for online stuff and try and train myself. I kept both of my sons out of daycare and homeschooled them thru 7th grade by driving a truck at night, taught them during the day, and slept when my wife got off work. I made a lot of mistakes, but quickly learned what was good info and bad. I guess I didn't do too bad as my oldest was Valedictorian and my youngest is a Jr. and well on his way to the same. I made sure they could read and do math and write, and I supplied all kinds of books for them to read. It's the same with info on self protection. Some guys don't have a clue, and their stuff is useless, but some are pretty sharp and I pick up stuff here and there.
Also, as I have pointed out, the extra ease in cleaning is worth the extra money if I have to pay extra. Especially to someone with my disabilities. But I have enjoyed seeing the different views and responses. I realize I am only one person and certainly don't know near as much as a lot of folks here. I just know what I like. :)

to each their own.
i never understood why people disparage others when they change their gun. be it nickel boron, stippling the grip, etc. it's their gun.
Because they get their firearms knowledge watching Tommy Lee Jones movies?

Because they have a bug up their keister about people choosing to do what they want with their own property?

:dunno:

Beats the hell out of me why.
