Trying to swap out the night sights which came with my G26 with some I-Dot Pros from Ameriglo. Got the screw out no problem but the front sight isn't budging. Don't really want to damage it as it glows just fine -- any ideas why it might be stuck and what's the best way to get it off?

Thanks greatly for any advice or experience you can share.

Put the screw back in most of the way and lightly tap the head of the screw with a soft punch ( wood dowl) should drive the sight out of the slide.

Those screws are so tiny, I wouldn't recommend tapping on them; too easy to damage the threads or the head (although this is a viable method for most other, larger, screws).

I'd remove the screw completely, and use a small metal punch (about 1/8"?) to tap on the sight stud from the bottom/inside of the slide. Don't use a punch small enough to get into the screw hole (this could damage the threads); find one just a little bit larger, but still smaller than the sight hole width in the slide.

Shouldn't take but a few light-to-medium taps, in my experience.

This is just about exactly what I was going to say as well.

Of course you may have trouble finding a punch that's exactly the right size to do it this way. So if you do try tapping on the screw head, only do it very lightly, and don't hesitate to give up and look for a proper punch if it doesn't come right out.
