Not legal in most states, not a good idea in any state.got a glock 22 can it be used to hunt deer with?? will be using 180 hp... thanks worm
I was under the impression that handgun hunting was allowed in most states. I know it is in my state and the .40S&W would be acceptable for deer. Whether or not it would be a wise choice is another matter. Not legal in most states, not a good idea in any state.
The .454 Casull is overkill for whitetail deer unless you're shooting at long distances, though if that's what you've got, go with it. A .357 Magnum is fine (I killed a large white tail with one) and a .44 Magnum is excellent... especially if you're in black bear country. The .454 is fine for black bear, too.454 casull would be better, what happens when ya get a bad shot on the deer and it runs.. I've. Seen plenty of them get hit with a slug in bad areas and run for miles before they either get shot again or finally expire... .40s&w just not a round for deer IMO...

Hey, that better be one small German Shepard if you're in FL!!!I participated in another thread like this one, and I learned something very important: There are whitetails, then there are WHITETAILS.
In the southern US it sounds like the deer are barely larger than a big German Shepard.
In the north the deer are bigger. A buck can be over 200 lbs pretty easily.
According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency's 2013 Tennessee Hunting & Trapping Guide, yes it is legal to use.I live in tn.. got 180 rem umc H.P should be a little over 1000 fps about 400lbs WORM
This ^If I was going deer hunting I could think of more than a few handguns that would be higher on my list.
