My new Trijicon night sights arrived in the mail today!! Because I am too impatient to wait to have a gunsmith install them for me, I decided I would do it myself.

My Gen4 G21 is the first handgun I have ever owned. I have absolutely ZERO knowledge on how to work on guns, and I have ZERO tools required for such an install.

Call me ghetto, but I made it happen.

may be of interest for future sight installs. SJ 40

How hard was it to actually drive back in that way? Glad it worked out...you have more patience than me.

I don't see loctite on those front sight threads...did you add it before tightening it down? It will work loose if you don't, especially on the 45. Use blue so you can change if needed.

Anyone local just ask to use my sight tool...

It wasn't too hard driving the rear site in. It took a while though because it was pretty tight, but that's a good thing.

And yes, I used loctite. The threads you see in the picture are from the stock sight.

Those are the GL01's, aren't they? I have them on four of my Glocks. On my gen3 G17, I have the GL11 which has the Novak rear sight.

GL01s indeed.

Novak sights are pretty cool. I might get a set of those later down the road.

No, I mentioned that I had the GL11's on one of my Glocks; my gen3 G17. The Trijicon GL11 is a night sight system that employs the Novak rear sight instead of their standard rear sight that you get with the GL01. I don't recommend the GL11 for Glocks in the 19 or 23 size range or smaller. It's okay for Glocks of the size of the 17 or 22. The reason is that the rear aperture of the Novak sight used is a little narrower and lets less light through from the front post. This is not good with the 19 or 23 but the 17 and 22 have a longer sight radius so you can get away with using in on them. I did install the GL01 on my new gen4 G22 and like it very much. That is my preferred night sight system.
