FOR A LONGER SHIRT!

I get my CHL in about a month and from walking around the house and doing various things my shirts just aren't cutting it. (My shirts stop just below my belt.. Is that too short?)

I wear $12 chapps collard shirts from kohls.

I don't want to look tactical or anything but I would like some recommendations of longer collard shirts or whatever shirts you guys are wearing!
Thanks!

Most shirts alone are not going to be enough to cover a ccw. Especially at first when your going to feel like everyone is looking at you and everyone is starring at your gun.

A nice light jacket or fleece is a good option.

Also a good holster is a must.

Extra info.
I'm fat and live in Texas where it's hot and humid.. (That being said just a shirt would be preferred! But I will make sacrifices to carry..)

I will be carrying a g26 in a crossbreed with a wilderness belt.

In the Summer I carry a 4" .357 Magnum revolver IWB or a G27 IWB with jeans and a T shirt. Buy longer shirts.

When carrying, you will have to adapt your wardrobe to the gun. Fact.

I'm also "long torsoed" and have the problem with tucked shirts pulling up out of my pants.

Kohl's (at least the one where I shop) usually has some "Tall" shirts that will fit us and they usually have a bit of extra room in the waist and longer sleeves.

I buy "XLT" shirts and the extra tail length, as well as the sleeve length will vary from brand to brand.
I have some shirts that have a "34" to "35" sleeve but some have "35" to "36".

My favorite shirt for summer carry is the ones that have a "banded bottom".
Stores that carry a "Big & Tall" selection sometimes carry these and if not, they can usually order them for you.

Duluth Trading Company makes shirts they tout as the end of plumbers butt. I mean to try them as they advertise to hang a couple inches longer when compared to most t-shirts. They have a faithful following for good products and great service.

Aren't cargo vests fashionable anymore? Perfect for PDAs, tablets and all the other stuff we carry around, as well as concealment of personal artillery pieces.

When you say, "I'm fat," what do you mean?

How tall are you and what is your waist size?

Kohl's has the Chaps collared shirt in Big and Tall sizes. That includes the longer 'Tall" sizes, L Tall, XL Tall, and XXL Tall. They will be more than long enough.

If the bottom is too floppy, too loose, look at the Safe Harbor Banded-Bottom Polo shirts, also at Kohl's. The banded bottom holds the shirt more snugly around the hip.

Summer time I wear cargo shorts, t-shirt underneath an untucked polo shirt or short-sleeve button down shirt (sometimes unbuttoned--most of the time buttoned)...carry my G17 in a Galco IWB Summer Comfort--never had any issues...and I'm 5'7"...190 lbs...and need to lose about 30 lbs. myself! Only reason I wear a t-shirt is that I don't like the feel of steel on my skin, not to mention that my G17 is an rtf2 gillie!

A good place to start is to check out your neighborhood yard sales, especially now that Spring is here. I've picked up a number of oversize shirts for as little as a quarter that work very well with CCW.

These will do the trick if you like T-Shirts. I have a long torso & am also chunky. These shirts work great as summer cover shirts &/or winter under shirts. I highly recommend you try them.
