I'm looking to get another 9mm auto just to have. I've noticed that 3rd gen S&W guns are really inexpensive. Anyone have any experience with the 910 or 915?

Good link thanks for posting it. It clearly shows the sifferences between the 910 and 915. Makes deciding between the two, if you have an option, easy IMOI have a 915 great pistol.
Neither one is actually a 3rd Gen. The 915 was a transitional model before the Value Line. 915 has a little less machining on the slide but is still all metal parts. Also has a lugged barrel.
Value Line 910 still a great pistol. No lugs on the barrel and some plastic parts.
Here's a thread over at S&W Forum with some comparison pics. Post #15

You didn't specify which model, but it doesn't matter, that is a good price for either. If my LGS had either at that price, I'd snag itThe guy wants $230, which is hardly more than a surplus 9x18 gun.

I'd jump on a 915 for that price. I have a 915 and really like it. The first pull of the trigger is DA and not bad, although long. The following pulls in SA are great with a very short reset. MecGar makes 15 and 17 round mags for them. The guy wants $230, which is hardly more than a surplus 9x18 gun.
Easy mistake to make since they only have the three numbers.Great pistols
They are 2nd gen, however.
Great deal indeedThe guy wants $230, which is hardly more than a surplus 9x18 gun.
Me too! For reference, I picked up the 17-round Mec-Gar mags for my 5906 and they work great.I would get both of them for that price.
