I love the Schere plug that is flush fit and not the slug plug. I have it on my 21sf that I use in USPSA and it really helps prevent the case rim from grabbing on the cut out while reloading.

I recently bought a duplicate 21sf which I dedicate to CCW. I wanted to set it up the same seeing as I now have 11k rounds on my other 21sf and want to have a specific clean newish ccw gun.

The problem I have is my plug fits the old 21sf gen 3 just fine and my newer gen 3 with the matte finish has a lanyard hole cut about 1-2 mm lower and closer to the end of the grip. None of the plugs will fit now and I am not aware of someone that sells a plug for this newer gen 3 glock. I also dont know if perhaps I have an anomaly and my lanyard hole is just off which would mean I am screwed.

Its not a huge deal and I can live with out especially on my CCW gun because I wont be reloading like I do in competition but it would be nice to find a plug that fits.

On the other hand since my lanyard hole is closer to the bottom of the frame I worry of it cracking so I may just leave it alone. I havent had an issue on my other 21sf but I would be pissed if I did develop a crack there. I would have to have the frame replaced and redo my CCW permit but I would trust Glock would take care of me so long as I didnt cause it by the use of a plug. Not sure how a plug could cause such a thing but maybe during a drop on a hard surface the plug stop the frame from flexing and thus causes a crack. Good thing I dont drop my guns. :)

Anyone heard of this and have an idea?

Grip plugs fit so snug why not just dremel off the mound from the grip plug that slips into the lanyard hole.

Bought mine from Glockmeister for my gen. 3 G27- it fits snug with no alterations/ adhesive. Sits flush with gun. Has never popped out after many rounds. Cop friend and others on the force have been using plugs in duty weapons for years- no problems. Remember its a Glock! If you have an issue, simply pop it out! My Ford Explorer didn't come with a bug guard on the front of the hood, but I put one on because I like it, and it looks nice. Personal preference bro.

Yeah the one on my USPSA glock looks and fits as it should. For now I am going to live with out one on my CCW glock since it really isnt going to matter much.

If they fit so tight they are friction fit I would be worried about a crack. I had though of grinding the nub and using silicone and did all that but wasnt happy about the fit so I took it out.

Not sure why the lanyard hole is drilled differently but maybe glock did it to drive the after market people crazy, lol.

Yeah I agree there is no need for that cut out there. I can strip stuck mags just fine with it plugged and in 11k rounds of competition I have yet to discover a need for the cut out.

I just wish my new 21sf would fit the plugs but it seems I would have to modify them to make it work and I dont like jiffy rigging things like this.

To make the pistol look unfinished, right?
Let's you get you're thumb up there to aid in stripping the mag if you were to ever experience a double feed. I've tried it with the plug installed during training/range drills, and it's difficult to get a grip on the thin baseplate of the mag.

It's all relative. Not really much of a concern for recreational shooters, but under stress and when those fine motor skills start to diminish, it makes a big difference.

I drill a drainage hole in the plug. It lets the gas out and any water that may find it's way in through the top.

I take it fishing, and sometimes go in over the wader top or just slip on the slimy rocks.
How big of fish are you catching that you need to carry a pistol? Lol :D

To each his own, but the cut out is there for a reason.
The main reason that opening is there is to allow for the metal mold to form the back strap when the frame is manufactured.

I love Glockmeisters Gen 3 plugs. Makes the pistol look finished and fits perfectly flush. Yours looks just like mine did. Almost makes me miss my Gen 3.

The Gen 4s don't sit quite flush due to some internal changes Glock made to the backstrap channel. The Gen 4 plug protrudes slightly.

Turn your pistol upside down with an empty magazine inserted.

Place the slide in the padded jaws of a good vise.

Mix the fine product shown above.

Pour it into that hole that you so desperately want to fill.

Fill it up then let it harden overnight.

Any extra material protruding from the hole can be filed, sanded and painted to perfectly match the gun and magazine.

No longer will you have to worry about that empty hole or the unfinished look.
You can also quit worrying about adding a manual safety or a lanyard, or lightening the trigger pull or where your brass will land.

You can call it your "custom Glock". Feel free to stipple the entire frame and paint it purple, chrome plate the slide and paint flames around the injection port.

I don't know about you but after you do all this I will feel much safer.

Be careful with those plugs! I've seen them split the frame from the lanyard hole down. If it feels real tight going in it may need some fitting. Always do your fitting on the part not the pistol.
Yep,,, my buddies G31 OD frame split adding a plug. Sent it back too Glock and replaced the frame but now has 2 seperate serial #'s. I told him not to force it too much but he didn't listen. :dunno:
