I really wish I could pocket carry a revolver like some of you guys.

Don't get me wrong, I carry a S&W 642 in my coat pocket in the winter, but pants pocket carry, it just don't fit for me.

I'm a tall guy, at 6'2" and 200lb, and I cannot carry a snubbie of my relax fit jeans or my work Khakis, without major printing or the handle of the revolver peaking out the top of my pocket.

For some reason, I have to go full blown rapper look, and buy Loose fit jeans, or go suburban commando and buy 5.11 cargo pants just to pull it off.

the correct answer is a 442 J frame. There is a reason it has been the pocket gun of choice for half a century. Slap a lazer and some nice .38 +p HPs and you are GTG. It will last forever as well.

Can be had OTD for $350 ish
This for the win!!

Shoot the Sig 238 before you make up your mind. Yea it costs more: bought one for my wife at $589 new and one for me at $395 used. Got rid of a Kel Tec 3AT and a S&W BG in the end and couldn't be happier. Now I'm waiting to get my hands on a Sig 938 to replace a Kel Tec PF9.

Its funny, my only beef with the Sig P238 is its a tad thicker, bigger, and heavier then all the other pocket guns. We are talking fractions of an inch, and an ounce or two, but when you add a pocket holster that covers the trigger and the safety switch, now you are talking about something that gets real close to a Kahr PM9/CM9 size.

Granted I shot Sig P238 recently. It was a friends SAS model and it is very pretty and shoots well, its just I was leaning more towards the S&W bodyguard to replace my Kel Tec P3at and P32, and here you traded your's in for a P238.

Nice looking gun :)

Just for conversation, why are you adding a laser? Just curious, since you've got a gun you like, what is it that makes you want the laser.

I've got the 642.
I also have a 442 and added a CT laser. I'm 55 years old and the sights on all smaller guns are damn hard for me to see anymore, even with glasses on. Especially at night!

Never thought I'd have a use for a gun with a laser. But now if I had the $$$, I'd put them on every potential carry gun I own. .

I don't own a small revolver, but they seem to be on the large side for front pants pockets on jeans.
I'm not a big guy but I can carry my S&W 442 in my front pocket. It's not as comfortable as a micro .380 but it is doable. A good pocket holster really helps and makes it more comfortable. I also have a belt holster for the 442 which is admittedly more comfortable. But being able to carry either way provided more options.

Wearing Cargo pants it's a breeze to pocket carry!

Just incase I have to use it a some distance or at night I would like a laser. Since there are no night sights I think a laser would be a nice accessory. Not necessarily needed, but an option!

In pants with shallow pockets the butt of the grip does show out the pocket. I had deeper pockets sown in my work pants.

I've steadily gone to downsizing pistols. From Glock 19 to a Taurus 851 to a Kel-Tec P3AT.

Revolver is light, but the cylinder is still fairly wide. I traded my Taurus 851 for a P3AT and am loving the slimness of the tiny .380.

I'm currently torn between a Kel-Tec PF9 or a S&W 642/442. I like 9mm+P way better than .38 and .380, but for pocket carry, I like the smaller the better.

I've been using the P3AT as a BUG (to my G19, G21, 1911) or as a primary for deep concealment.

I mean absolutely no disrespect but in the event of self defense, you won't have time to look where your laser is pointing. The event will occur in seconds. Pull, point (practice so aim and point are the same) and shoot. Most events take place in 1.5 seconds.

Yes, distance at night I could see the use for it. Even if only for coyotes where I live. Thanks for the explanation.
