I recently ordered a Lone Wolf stock length barrel for my G20. It took over 2 months to be delivered. When I got it, I compared to the Glock OEM barrel currently in my G20 and it had about the same........maybe a tad bit less chamber support than the Glock OEM barrel. The barrel also would fail to feed at almost every attempt. Needless to say, I am NOT a happy camper as this is the 3rd time I got a defective barrel or a barrel that did not live up to Lone Wolfs sales claims. I immediately sent the barrel back. I am DONE with Lone Wolf.

I am making the decision to go with either a Storm Lake or KKM stock length 10mm barrel for my G20.

I would appreciate some feedback from current owners and shooters of KKM and Stormlake barrels. I am looking for an OUT OF THE BOX, 100% reliable feeding, and maximum chamber support barrel to replace my Glock OEM barrel.

Which of these two manufacturers makes the best drop in replacement barrel? TIA.

I had replaced both my G20's with KKM years ago and never had a problem. I shot IDPA, Steel challnge and used it as my carry barrel. In fact after the round was shot, the case still fit my case check gauge.
I sold them all because I was planning on doing a long slide project but it never came to be. So I purchased a new slide and picked up the a Lone wolf barrel a few months ago and just yesterday got to the range to try it out.
Almost every single round failed to feed. I rechecked my case length and size and all was perfect. Mags have new springs in them too so it wasn't that either. I am NOT happy with it either. I can't return it since I filed down the wolf graffiti it had on the top of the chamber.
I should have kept one of the KKM's and will now have to buy a new KKM to replace this piece of "equipment".
I have a coworker who's dad is a gunsmith so I am going to give it to him to see if something could be done with it..

Needless to say I would recommend the KKM drop in

You can probably salvage the Lone Wolf barrel by polishing the sharp edges along the circumference of the chamber mouth. It is a bit time consuming but if you send it back to Lone Wolf for their armorer to polish out those sharp edges, they will probably hog out the feed ramp at the chamber mouth like they did on one of my barrels and eat up the critical chamber support in that area.

Sorry to hear that you got snookered too.

I tried calling Storm Lake several times during business hours and kept getting a recording. Customer service cost them the sale. I called KKM twice with questions and someone answered the phone both times and assured me that the barrel would be checked with the type of ammo I would be using. So I decided to go with KKM. I will post my review after I receive and test fire the KKM barrel. All things being equal, customer service is VERY important.....after all, even the best products have occasional problems and they are only as good as the manufacturer that stands behind them. If I can't get someone to answer the phone during business hours, that was a point in KKM's favor.

I've only had my 20sf a short time, but have the KKM barrel. Have so far put about 250 rounds of Underwood ammo through it without a hitch. No bulging that I can see.

No experience with Storm Lake.

YMMV

I just ordered a kkm today as well after doing tons of research. I think I made the right choice. Plus they were great to talk to over they phone.
Oh, I'm SURE you made the right decision. Well done, sir.

I have a 6" Storm Lake for my G20 and the only issue I had was with DT beartooth. I had a couple of FTF through 50 rounds. No other issues with several other DT rounds. Have some underwood but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

My same experience exactly. I ordered on a Monday afternoon and received my standard G20 KKM barrel on Thursday afternoon, a 2000 mile delivery! The quality looks very good, very professional. Barrel fits into slide snugly but not too tight. Took gun outside, pointed in safe direction and released slide to chamber a round into barrel with no problem. Have not shot any rounds through it yet because of bad weather and no chance to get to range. I will not make up my mind about the barrel until I have about 1000 rounds shot through it. To be fair to Storm Lake my shooting friend has a SL barrel and loves it. It has given him an elephant hunting desire, whether the elephant is real or made of plastic. So to help keep him out of trouble I won't tell him where the zoo is!

My G20 has a feeding problem (in my book, a 1 percent FTF rate is unacceptable) with 10MM ammo of any brand & load, when using either the original barrel or a Glock brand 6" hunting barrel. But when I put in a 9x25MM Dillon Barrel, or a .40 Short & Weak barrel, (both Bar-Sto's) the gun has never failed to feed once. Not a single FTF, in any caliber except 10MM.

I have a G20 with the Lone Wolf 6" barrel-works great and shoots beautifully- at 100 yards it is a rifle (almost). Several different loads used. No problems. good for me.
This combo is a couple of years old so it is prob an older production run of the barrel.
Just got another KKM 40-9 for my 27 and have a 357 6" for my 31. Both excellent pieces.

I don't here much about Bar-Sto barrels. I thought they were one of the first and best. Asking because I have been thinking about getting a 6in and stock lenght.
You don't hear much because they are at least $100-200 more than the competition. They are the best though.
