I read the great thread http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1287557&highlight=serial+numbers on serial numbers and unable to follow the last two letters representing the year. If my last two letters are UR, how does that relate to the following table on year?

The 3 letters represent the barrel test fire date code:

The first letter is for the month:
E...Jan
L...Feb
N...Mar
B...Apr
S...May
Z...Jun
G...Jul
P...Aug
I...Sep
C...Oct
V...Nov
A...Dec

The last two letters are for the year:
O...0
W...1
K...2
R...3
F...4
M...5
H...6
Y...7
T...8
D...9

That's for Proof Marked Glocks, there will be a three-letter code on the barrel which is different from the serial number. Only Proof Marked Glocks have that three-letter code on the barrel.

Scroll down further in that thread and you'll see Glock serial number prefixes going alphabetically. They have test-fire dates for each. Not every serial number prefix is in the list, just find the one that's closest to yours and that'll give you an approximate test-fire date for yours.

You can call Glock and get the exact test-fire date and import date of your Glock, per the serial number. They cannot tell you when the gun was made.

I believe my G23 is a 2nd gen gun. It has what looks like a little house after the serial # on the barrel. is that a proof mark. CFXxxx.

I don't agree. Unless I'm not reading it right. My G17 I bought in 1992 SN AMRxxxUS and the only thing on the barrel is 9x19. According to this chart my gen1 was produced Feb 1953?
