Does anyone here subscribe to a "gun tests" magazine, and would you recommend it?

Back in the 1996, they sent me a couple of complimentary issues totally unsolicited. After the 3rd issue they sent me a bill. I promptly tested it's aerodynamic capabilities into the trashcan. They then sent me two more bills and told me they would be sending my name into collections if I didn't pay up.
:animlol:
I took it one time and cancelled after my second or third issue. Pure crap IMO.
I, also, subscribed to the magazine a few years ago for a couple of years. Yes, they have no advertising and yes, they still have preconcieved notions about firearms in general and make stupid comparisons between totally different guns. They are quick to show their lack of knowledge and prejudices toward certain types of guns. They, rarely, get the specs right and contain errors regularly in their write-ups.
I use to have a subscription, many, many moons ago, but that was before the era of 'You tube,' with great videos like the ones put out by Hickok45, and, as Dave suggested, sites like 'gunblast.com.' Their info is just as informative, imo less biased, and way more entertaining.Does anyone here subscribe to a "gun tests" magazine, and would you recommend it?
+100 (I'm a big 'Hickok45' fan...)Gunblast and Hickok45.
This was one of the biggest 'turn-offs' for me. They did the same thing on the Ruger P95 when it first came out. Tested it, and raved about how great it was. Then, maybe a year later, one of their guys tested it again, and then labled it as 'not a good buy.'Their testing methods are also rather silly; they'll test a gun & give it a high grade, then test it again a few months later & give it a low grade because (according to them) the other guns they tested it with during the second test were better.
Well said.If you have internet access, and a member of Glocktalk. You won't need that magazine. I used to subscribe it. But it really just few guys that give you their own "opinion". Nothing more.
That is how it is with me. I go way back when you had to find the magazine on the news stand. What started to chap my butt is when they do a review of the 11 past issues of the year in the last December issue. The magazine isn't that big (no adds) then waist my time reading what I paid a lot for over again was an insult.I'm a current subscriber, but I'm letting it go unrenewed this year. The mag just isn't what it was when it started out.
