Good point. If the box was collectible, I'd probably put it on Gunbroker or something. What I was really trying to say, is that I don't worry about antiques or collectible stuff. The fact that the gun came with a box would not add any value for me.

Its just best to keep them together. The two are worth more together than the sum of the parts. :)
 
I'd rather own my 1977 Combat Commander than a $2K Wilson.

That looks very nice, but I'm not sure it makes sense with the statement you made.

If you would rather have a vintage Colt than a Wilson, then why not leave it original? I would have left the Colt stock and put the money towards a high end model, such as Wilson.
