I have never owned a TRP, but I had a Loaded model several years ago (fairly nice pistol). What's the difference? Is the TRP a superior weapon? Is the TRP such a better pistol to warrant paying the extra money over and above the Loaded model? Is the TRP frame made in Brazil such as the Loaded model's frame? Just looking for some input from the masses with more expierence with these models. Any useful input is appreciated. Thanks. Yall be safe.

All frames are machined by Imbel in Brazil.
That being said (and owning both), depends on what you want it for. For carry and duty work, a Loaded will be fine and save more money for ammo. For me, a TRP was not so significant in difference that it warranted the higher price between the two for just carry and duty work. Gosh, I wanted it to be and the combat night sights were nice, but . . .
That being said, I have a TRP that is about to go FS because I simply shoot the 2x4 better. I had a loaded that I enjoyed every bit as much as the TRP but the only drawback were the combat target sights with edges that were hell on my arms (resting in a holster, brushing by them, etc.).

Yes, it is a good finish.
I always wished Springfield built the Armory Kote TRP with the bull barrel, but without the rail.
My TRP was worth the extra over the Loaded. I paid $1100 vs $925.
I prefer front-strap checkering, and that's at least a $150 option from most after-market shops. In addition the TRP had a better finish, nicer grips, and the fit on barrel and bushing was better than the pair of Loaded models that sat next to it in the display case.

Slide to frame fit is often touted by some folks, the TRP shines there as well.

I know there's been debate on how to refer to S&W's Performance Center models, but if we should consider them production guns, I would say they're the closest to a semi custom.

The loaded's are excellent. Only you can decide if the additional features of a TRP are worth it to you. Front strap checkering is a big deal to me. You'd have to have that done to a Loaded if it were important to you.
