I've bench rested them both to 50 yards with assorted ammunition. How about you?
And how many samples did you use in your accuracy analysis? To make a broad, sweeping statement like that, I hope is was more than a few. I'm guessing your test is statistically insignificant, generally speaking.

Both the XD and Glock can shoot well, but neither is a target pistol, and neither was designed to be one. If you want supreme accuracy out of a fighting pistol, buy a 1911. :tongueout:

I like them both. The XD graduated from being perceived as a Glock clone into its own stylized poly pistol. The one XDM had a better trigger than the XD and the M&P as well.

I'm too bias about Glock to say anything other than they are Glocks. (I really like em)

I like the XDm, but that is just ugly to me. Something about the short slide makes it funky.

Mine is a Service XDm in 9mm, and I'll be adding the .45 when it comes out - IF it holds more rounds than my XD45.

They're both friggen ugly. Who the hell buys polymer pistols for looks?

The XDm is a large pistol and the 3.8 scales it down slightly, without giving up any of the grip size or capacity.
XDm-4.5 in
XDm 3.8 well..3.8
XD service-4.0 in.
I held a XD 4 service 40sw on top of a XDm 3.8 40sw and the difference was around an 1/4 inch on length and height and held 2 more rounds.

I prefer a Glock subcompact to an original XD subcompact because the Glock seemed to conceal better and felt lighter and thinner, especially in the slide area. I haven't owned the XDM so I can't say but I would like to try one.

Nice sassy attitude, princess. Here is my version of sass.

I've torture tested them with 1 billion assorted rounds of corrosive ammunition after I ran it over with my hummer. Then I shot 1 billion more rounds of +P+. Then I shot 1 billion more of my own reloads in which I forced a kaboom and I started shooting again from a F16 fighter jet.

Glocks and XD's are about the same in accuracy. But because they are pistols that means that they aren't very accurate at all. The difference of .2 inches at 50 yards isn't going to matter much. If it did matter that much then I'd grab the XDM with it's 20 rounds and call it a day.

EDIT: Oh and if you want a bulls eye gun neither of these are the go to guns. These are more for plinking, SD, HD, combat...you know those sort of things...

I hate the stupid grip safety on the XD. The main reason being you cannot manually operate the slide without the grip safety depressed.

I've fired the 9mm sub-compact before. Let's just say I will keep my G26. ;)

...

I prefer the Glock's lower bore access and slightly smaller dimensions not to mention higher capacity and the tennifer finish.

...
You do realize that Tenifer (Glock) and Melonite (everyone else) is the same exact thing, right?

I have and love both. The pluses for the XD are better ergonomics for alot of folks. And I can group better with my XD than most of my Glocks. And a lifetime warranty backed up by a great company. The down side is that their are very few aftermarket suppliers for the XD. And SA is very funny about shipping folks parts. They usually want you to send it to them.
The Glock is like the 1911 in that their are tons of aftermarket parts for them. The Glock design is much less complicated. My Glocks are among the few guns I feel confortable with doing the work myself on. And it's been around longer. The downside to me are the huge hump in the back. Not so bad on the 9mm/.40, but huge on the .45. And the finger grooves don't seem to ever fit my hand well. Either gun will do it's job with minimum care. It's just which one is the better ft for the individual. And the interchangeable backstraps on the Gen. 4 may make a big difference in feel.

The atfer market for the XD may still improve over time.

It will never be what the Glock's is, but I feel the XD, and especially the XDm, is more refined than a Glock out of the box.

Springfield has been running a monopoly on spare parts for the past 5 years or so. Nothing indicates that they'll just change their minds.

How do you easily manipulate the slide without a firm hold on the grip?

I'm not big on the XD, it was the only pistol I've ever owned that's broken on me.

One stupid roll pin shut it down completely. The USP has a roll pin that serves a similar purpose, but my HK has seen much more range time and dry firing than the XD ever did with no problems.

You used to be BIG on it over at XD forums!!
