Looking to get one or the other. The Glock 19 is tried and proven obviously, but just to be a little different, I'm thinking about the PPS. Anyone have any real experience with the Walther as compared to the Glock?

The Glock 26 is more closely related to the PPS, as its a subcompact.Need, no. Want, yes. Frankly, either will do. Kinda just trying to figure out why I should spend the extra money on the PPS.
It does not detail strip like a Glock, it's much more involved. I had one and could not get used to the mag release, not to mention the rip-off price for spare magazines ($50+).I love my PPS. It field strips like a Glock, the internals are like a Glock, it has Tennifer like a Glock. I have the 40 and use it 100% for my summer carry these days. It is very controlable and accurate.
At first I thought it was really ugly but it has grown on me.
I thought the mag release would be an issue for me but I have adapted to it.It does not detail strip like a Glock, it's much more involved. I had one and could not get used to the mag release, not to mention the rip-off price for spare magazines ($50+).
Detail stripping a Glock is a 5-minute job. Add a couple more minutes if you want to remove the mag release and slide lock. The PPS is more involved and difficult and if you're not careful you can screw it up. Glocks are pretty hard to screw up.I thought the mag release would be an issue for me but I have adapted to it.
I have had mine for a while now and it FIELD strips just like a GLOCK. Pull down on the two levers just like every Glock I have ever seen.
Detail stripping a Glock is no funn either.
And I have to agree on the mag prices. But they are high quality and work well.
Actually, I think they're both primarily carry guns. The PPS is more of a carry gun and the G19 is more of a HD and range gun.
Completely agree. I carry a 19 daily and have a 34 for the range. I had to look up how big the PPS is and it looks like it compares pretty close to the kel-tec 9mm's. I'm an average sized guy and have no issues concealing the 19 IWB.Actually, I think they're both primarily carry guns.
I don't see the G19 as a range gun at all. The G34 is a range gun, not the G19.
