You don't see me spelling it Knew York. Seems to only be appropriate to misspell the name whilst emphasizing the state's strict gun laws. Guess I'm not that cool. Or is it 'kewl?'

Right there with Ya Gary.I don't speel it with a "K"--but I do try to show my contempt! :steamed:
This was very well said and I wish more people felt this way.Right there with Ya Gary.
I was born here, and I will fight to restore the rights of all Californians (with a 'C' if you please). I don't agree with the laws but would rather show my contempt by writing my elected officials, educating those that don't know about the facts (especially registered voters), Voting!, Showing my support at events (like the 9th district court Nordyde trial in SF which I took a day off work to attend), and introducing others to the joy of shooting. Changing minds will change votes. Some of the people here believe the media because they personally don't own guns or have ever been shooting. If nothing else I show them that there are law abiding gun owners who handle, and store their firearms safely as well as enjoy the sports associated with shooting while being family oriented, good neighbors.
Most guns are owned by law abiding people we only hear about the gang-bangers, and drive by's because a law abiding gun owner isn't news, and doesn't get ratings!.
When people deface my state flag or misspell my state's name it may show contempt for the laws to some but IMO also shows contempt for the residents of this fine state regardless of their personal beliefs or how they personally voted. Grouping ANY regional area as having the same values is incorrect, and stereotyping people because of where they live only shows your own ignorance, and unfounded prejudice. I am smarter than that......are you?
Me too. This was very well said and I wish more people felt this way.
Knot for you to worry, komrade! :rofl:You don't see me spelling it Knew York. Seems to only be appropriate to misspell the name whilst emphasizing the state's strict gun laws. Guess I'm not that cool. Or is it 'kewl?'
Maybe it is because your Governator pronounces it Kaleeeeforrneeeyahhhh
California has great weather and a lot of wide open space up north. Some great fishing on the coast or the High Sierras, Great Mountain Biking, not to mention I found it easyier to get higher paying jobs there and felt I had more rights as an Employee.true, kommiefornia is a beautiful state topographically speaking, but the government sucks. kinda like the UK, Au or Canada.
Now we're thinking alike. With all that being said I think it would be a good Idea for every one of us to introduce a "Minority" A forenier, Black person, A Gay Person, A woman , to our sport of shooting. These people are the ones who Voted Obama into office. And Clinton too. If intercity law abiding Black people in South Centeral L.A. had CCW permits, went to the shooting range for fun once a month the thugs who treaten there families and jump there kids into the gangs would think twice about this.
Way to go!Now we're thinking alike.
Last guy I took to the range was an Asian guy (Mongolian decent but Russian national).
I took him to my local range (where they know me), and not only did he get to shoot my AR, and 2 of my Glocks but also got to fire a few rounds through a revolver, and 1911 (we met some nice people there that were interested in my Glocks so we traded for a few rounds so they could give it a whirl).
He had so much fun his first time ever shooting a gun (and I made sure he brought a camera) that he rushed home to share his experience with his friends, and family.
I provided the ammo, and payed his entrance to the range but the very next time I saw him he handed me a $100 bill, and asked if we could go again when he saved up more money to help me buy ammo. I said, "Sure!" (I love the range anyway). He will be getting his U.S. citizenship in a month or two, and registering to vote soon after (along with buying a handgun for his 21st birthday in less than a year). Very nice kid.
By doing this I not only had a great time myself but also introduced an immigrant (and one of the younger generation) to the joy of shooting, and safe firearm handling.
Would have been worth the cost of ammo to me for the votes it will gain in our state.
Just so you know he's the guy who makes my coffee at the local coffee house, and shared his experience with everyone there. I have two others (young ladies who work there (both registered voters)) who would like me to take them next so they can learn how to shoot.![]()
