How good/bad are GLOCKs with the neutered politically-correct 10-round mags?

An friend called from NJ and asked if I could recommend a good .45ACP handgun. He lives in NJ -- 10 round magazine limit -- so I recommended a 1911. I was also going to suggest he look at a G21, but I've never seen a 10-round GLOCK magazine.

How does GLOCK make a G21 mag that would normally hold 13 rounds hold only 10? Are they reliable? Rugged?

Does GLOCK do anything unconscionable to the mag body? (I've seen Para Ords 10-round P14 mags, and they look like they are liable to break in half at the seams at any moment.)

New Jersey has a 15 round limit, not ten rounds. You are thinking of NY, MA and CA. Hawaii has a freaking ban on "assualt pistols", ie semi automatics (you can only own revolvers like in DC), pretty gay huh?

The limit in New Jersey is 15 rounds, not 10. You are mistaking it for California...

I have heard of some of the limited-round magazines having issues getting the last round in due to new springs, but that is not that big of an issue.

thats a decent choice, or you could tell him to just get the gun the xd is trying to be.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I'm just sayin'.........

Seriously? You're wondering if 3 rounds makes a difference in quality?

How about the G30, it only come with 9 or 10 round magazines, are they any less in quality than the 13 round mag for the G21?

Please, let's try and use your brain. It's made by glock, no some chinese sweatshop.

Yes. The 10 round mags are just as good as any others for Glocks (assuming Glock original mags). Don't forgot that Glock could sell only 10round mags from the end of '94 through Sept '04. In those ten years, has the reputation of Glock diminished? Also Glocks are still sold with 10rd mags in NY, MA, & CA.

BTW, someone mentioned the XD. If you're going to go with something other than a Glock in .45, I'd suggest you look at the Para Nite-Tac. It'll hold 14+1 rounds, one more than the G21. It's more of a blend of a Glock and 1911... which might appeal to some people and not others...

Sigh...have you ever seen how Para Ord restricts mag capacity? They take the mag body, and to prevent conversion back to full capacity, they basically saw the mag body in half at the ten round line and then put a solid bottom back on with two little plastic tabs. They look like they could let go at any moment.

I was simply asking how GLOCK does it.

You are the one ill-informed, obviously not knowing that other gun companies do indeed mutilate the mag body to limit its capacity.

Why not give a helpful, civil response instead of posting something unfriendly and hostile?

Or better yet, post nothing at all?

(Your response disgusted me, and made me think less of YOU.)

Thank you for the helpful, useful response!

Np. Butch has some good pics of the inside of 10 rd mags, maybe he will chime in or you could drop him a pm and he could send you a link to them. also, like otheres have said, if your buddy lives in NJ, he can get standard 13 round mags for the 21.
