I bought an XD9 sub compact and then sold it because it is just boxier than the G26. The person I sold the XD to carries it in a shoulder holster. I never tired that but an IWB just didn't work for me. The price of the great grip on the XD is the bulk and angularity IMHO.

If the triggers on the XD are improved I would consider a XDs in .45 but for now my G26 works. That is an impressive little gun.

An XD9 sub-compact and an XDs are two different things. And the XDs has a decidedly better trigger.

I have owned both, i currently still carry my glock 26.

My reasoning.
1. Shooting my chosen type of self defense ammo, 230gr + P Federal HST , that gun was just alot to handle and hurt to shoot.
Target loads were fine but still for me, .45 in the small a package was not as easy to shoot than my 124gr +p 9mm loading in my 26.

Both were the same size , length and height with the xds being taller height wise which is what matters, detracts from its slimness. And for me.. 10 rounds with my glock 19 mag with 14 since i download the mag by 1 as a reload easily wins me over vs. the xds 5 and a 7 round backup.

If im going into the realm of pocket pistols, im going to go for something that could fit a woman's pocket , come to think of it nothing but an NAA revolver could...

I'm not an XD fan. The bore axis is higher than a Glock and I absolutely hate the grip safety. It pinches me nearly every time I grip one of these guns, and I don't understand why they designed it so the grip safety has to be depressed to rack the slide.

xds 9 vs glock 26..

So how does the glock 26 compare with the xds 9mm. Is there enough difference as far as the thinness to really tell when holding it in your hand?
Is the XDs9 even out yet? :dunno:If we're comparing the XDs45 to the G26, I'll take the G26 all day long.

Well, after going directly to SA's website, I see that the are mentioning them.

I would still prefer the G26 over the XDs9. More rounds is more important to me and the width is negligible IMO.
Yea the new XDs in 9mm is out on the shelves now for sale to the public. I have a g26, I wish they would have scaled down the xds 9 instead of it being the same exact size as they couldve made it a bit smaller than the xds 45...but I still might have to pick one of these up in the near future, I like the xd line triggers they are the closest to a glock trigger imo.

I'm picking up my M&P Shield 9mm this weekend, but, since I am a gun lover, I wouldn't be against picking up a new XDs9, just because. My new Crossbreed Mini Tuck will be here this weekend too, so I'll be able to tote my XDs45 and the XDs9 would fit in the that same holster, so...:whistling:

Yeah. It's an addiction.

I do believe your the only man/women I ever heard complaining that the grip safety pinches there hands. My wife doesn't complain about it pinching and her hands, and her are pretty tender and soft.
