I've decided to sell my nicest handgun which is a Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail .45 with custom work done by the legendary John Harrison of Harrison Design (http://www.harrisoncustom.com/Home.aspx). The DW CBOB is one of the nicest factory 1911s I've seen with mostly Ed Brown parts. I bought it new and have put about $800 into it with Harrison. It was only shot at an indoor range. With the custom work, I'm into it close to $1,800 when all is said and done. It's incredibly accurate. There are a few small marks on the top of the slide near the ejection port, but otherwise in excellent condition. I will also include the original 3 hole long trigger if you prefer it. It comes with a generic hard case, manuals, and the spent shell casing (unopened) from the factory. Below is a description of the custom work (still have build sheet) and a few pictures:

  • Remove existing dovetail sight, fit & install new sight
  • Heinie Ultra Low Mount rear sight, plain black, tall version (fits Novak cut)
  • Novak dovetail front sight, .200" tall, tritium lamp -w- white ring
  • Ed Brown GI recoil spring guide, blue, Commander
  • Wolff 18# Commander recoil spring, variable rate
  • Fit H-D barrel bushing and plain spring plug set to slide & barrel
  • HD beveled barrel bushing & plain spring plug set, S/S Commander
  • Re-crown barrel flush with barrel bushing
  • Function Reliability Package
  • Re-machine frame feed ramp to correct specs
  • Machine frame for clearance cut on frame bridge vertical impact face
  • Fit & tune match grade extractor
  • Wilson Bulletproof extractor,S/S, Ser. 70, .45
  • Fit oversize match trigger
  • HD-101-N Harrison Design Hard Use trigger for 1911, short smooth face with fixed overtravel stop, natural aluminum finish
  • File out checkering over runs on front strap to smooth surface, bead blast to blend with adjacent matte surfaces
  • Test fire and regulate sights to POA/POI -w- Federal ball ammo
  • Two Super 7 spring and mag follower kits (already installed in the two factory magazines)

I am asking $1,500 local in Northern VA (transferred through my FFL and I will pay the fee) or an additional $50 shipped to your FFL. Email me with questions at ecitizen at gmail dot com. I rarely check PMs.

Man I love Harrison work... Met him last year at a local match. That's exactly what I would have had done to that pistol too. Not often you find someone who gets custom work you'd enjoy as well. Subscribed, just priced a little high for me at the moment. Not a bad price, just high for ME.
