I like the idea of a TRS Comp, but I can't find a justifiable reason to get one when I already have the XC. My XC is perfect, I'm the original owner, so I have their lifetime warranty on it.

Would you sell a good recently purchased XC and then still add $2 to $2.5K to get into a new TRS Comp?

I really don't think if it is working well that you should change out.

That said we have a Staccato at work that is a rental guns with a loose front sight that is taking forever to get fixed and may not be able to get fixed because the design of the front sight is flawed. As our gunsmith said "It's a 3 thousand dollar gun and they can't do this right?"

Yeah, while I like my TRS Comp, I don’t feel Nighthawk double stack models hold a candle to high end models from dedicated 2011 manufacturers.

Now, an Atlas would be a significant upgrade over the Staccato.

I think you reach a point with high end 1911's/2011's where you are splitting hairs on details that won't have any effect on function or performance at all. This doesn't mean I don't think you should buy a high end version of these. If anything, to the contrary. If the Nighthawk has the features and finish you are looking for (and you can afford it) why not go for it? No doubt there will definitely be 100 other opinions on brands, and I would absolutely look at what bac1023 recommends, but in the end it's what makes you happy.

As to needing to trade one gun to get another, that's a whole different issue. I love my higher end firearms, but none of them are worth sacrificing anything for.

I don’t have the TRS Comp, just the Emissary in 9mm (double stack)…….and I do have the Staccato XC.
I shoot the Staccato more accurately..,,,,, but that’s just me.
