What has been your experience with this particular round?
Been reading some negative comments lately and was curious what your experiences have been.
I used these for the first 250 rounds through my Glock 19X, I experienced no misfires, failures to feed, failures to eject, etc.
The only "negative" if you want to call it that is that it left a lot of unburned powder in and on my gun.
I'm thinking about making this my SHTF stock pile round.
What do you think?
Good choice, or better options at same or better price point?

I like it an have been using it for several years.
I have had zero misfires or issues with this ammo.
Personally I almost always use the 124 grain 9.
I can usually buy it at Walmart in the 150 round boxes, $27.56 in my area.

Just a thought, your FDE 19X will probably make powder residue more visible because of the color.
Speer makes a cleaner powder version in 9mm. You pay more, but you may prefer it if you tried it.

Good enough for for USMC, good enough for me!

FWIW, over the past 20 years or so, I have used literally thousands of rounds of Winchester 124 grain 9MM NATO in a variety of pistols, revolvers and carbines. IMHO, the Winchester 9MM NATO, with it's sealed case mouth and primer, would be an excellent choice for long term "SHTF" stockpiling. When I was still in LE, I contacted a Winchester LE rep about this ammo. He confirmed that the 9MM NATO sold to the public is the same ammo Winchester supplies to the military. In spite of all the scary admonitions on the internet I read about how NATO is high pressure, is going to wear out or damage your gun, etc., I continue to use more of the NATO for plinking and practice than anything else in my 9MM firearms...

BTW, I've used a couple thousand rounds of the IMI 124 grain NATO. Same flawless performance. I'd have bought more of the IMI NATO, but I no longer know of a commercial source.

It has performed well for me. I have shot many hundreds of rounds, or more, over the years. It has been reliable, accurate, and seems to be loaded hot.

However, I’m not willing to pay the extra $2-3 per 50 box for just plinking use. And if I’m stockpiling some ammo for self defense purposes there are some deals on cheaper old school JHP, like Federal Hi-Shok, for only a dollar or two more per box than the Winchester NATO.

I don't shoot much 9. Don't even have a 9mm Glock.
That said, I did chronograph the WW 9MM 124 NATO in my P210.
Average 1142 FPS for 20 shots.
Runs exceptionally well in my CZ Scorpion carbine.

It's good stuff but frankly for SHTF I would just have a few boxes of your carry ammo, like HST. If you really need 1000 rounds of SHTF ammo (which you don't) then stock up on 9BPLE, at least it's a JHP. Even cheap Winchester JHP crap would be better than a FMJ.

I would have agreed with this except I've yet to see that ammo expand in anything other than bear gel and even then it doesnt expand consistently. Since it is a weaker round than the NATO ammo I'd go with the NATO. It also tends to Yaw around the 12in mark causing some substantial tissue damage at that location.

This is my personal opinion so take it at face value... but I do think a lot of the reports about NATO fmj being a poor man stopper stem from soldiers and marines lack of pistol skill. I shoot with a lot of military guys. Most of my friends are current and former military. I rarely see a Marine or Soldier who is a good shot with a pistol. Unless of course they train on their own or are special operations.

Win 124gr 9mm NATO is my personal defense ammo / SHTF ammo

has extra power for barrier penetration, sealed primers, long term storage life

a bad guy could be wearing a heavy coat, clothing with several layers, 9mm NATO has the extra punch you need.

at $27.47 a box of 150 rds at WALMART, thats a excellent price, good to stock up and cheap enough to use for training.

especially if you use a GLOCK , they are designed to use the NATO spec ammo and eat it like candy.

FMJ actually does considerably worse against barriers like auto glass than bonded projectiles like Gold Dots. Also, that extra "punch" you speak of does absolutely nothing in terms of penetrating clothing and is still less "punch" than a 124gr +P projectile. Don't be cheap.

I really like this ammo. I use it at the range a lot and it has performed flawlessly in all my pistols. Everyone on here is right about the great price at Walmart for this ammo. I keep about 1200 rds of this stashed at the house. I also keep both my 33rd mags loaded with it in case something major goes down. I collect it and HST, as much as possible

The Winchester 9mm NATO at Walmart is a great value. It is my choice for range ammo. 1140 FPS with a 124 grain bullet is full powered. It is clean in my experience. I like the brass for reloading too. I try to buy a 150 round box every month.

Don't want to step on anyone's toes about the Winchester NATO ammo, but I have chronographed the earlier boxes marked Q4318, the Walmart 150 round box of NATO, along with boxes marked 1140 FPS and 1200 FPS. I wondered about those boxes marked 1140 FPS myself, but it seems the same as any of the Winchester NATO I've used in the last 20 years or so. In my guns, the only difference in velocity is what might be expected in different manufacturer's guns, different actions, barrel lengths, ammo manufacturing lots, etc. Generally around 1200 FPS in 5" barrels. FWIW, I looked at boxes of Walmart NATO I've purchased over the last year, all were marked 1200 FPS. I'm going to chronograph some of the earlier, non-Walmart, Q4318 NATO and the NATO purchased at Walmart again, just to see if anything has changed...

Berto, Looking at some old chronograph notes, my results with Q4318 NATO, non-Walmart, ball in a couple of my guns with 4" and 16" barrels were similar. A 4" Bbl=1146 FPS, another lot=1165 FPS. A 16" Bbl= 1296, another lot=1319 FPS.
