Why do some people do this and for what reason is it done? Is it a better performance issue or is a plastic surgery thing?

Why do some people buy Chevys ? SJ 40Why do some people do this and for what reason is it done? Is it a better performance issue or is a plastic surgery thing?
The above mentioned barrels above are all stainless steel. SJ 40I've never been a fan of this but then think "why are Lone Wolff, Storm Lake, and KKM barrels not coated the same as a factory barrl?" I handed a friends G19 with a polished barrel tonight and I was amazed at how smooth the action was. I think it looks clean, would I do it? Probably not, I'd buy a KKM. IMO
That was my thought. Why mess with something that works? It is a service pistol that can save your life. jb
One trainer told me that he polished the muzzle end of the barrel of every pistol he carried for self-defense. His idea was that the now-shiny barrel could be more visible to an assailant and might encourage an assailant to quit the fight sooner, rather than later, and perhaps even avoid the necessity of his employing deadly force. Why do some people do this and for what reason is it done? Is it a better performance issue or is a plastic surgery thing?
They want to be gunsmiths but don't have the skills, so they settle for making their slide to barrel fit looser ( a bad idea). Why do some people do this and for what reason is it done? Is it a better performance issue or is a plastic surgery thing?
I dont like it on the glock, just wanted to see some of your input on why people did it. ThanksI don't like the look of polished barrels, slides but if you like it then do it. No sanding or grinding, polish only:wavey:
I do this too, to make my g26g4 barrel look bigger, maybe thwart use.One trainer told me that he polished the muzzle end of the barrel of every pistol he carried for self-defense. Yup...I have polished the barrel on my G21 AND painted the letters...So, sue me.:tongueout:.Because they like to tinker. It's the same with painting the letters on the slide.
