I would guess part of Glock's reasoning for not producing higher capacity mag for the 43X is marketing. For those (what percentage of 43X owners??? IDK) who feel CCWing 10 rounds is not enough, they could buy one or two Shield 15 rounders. Or, Glock believes there are enough 43X owners who will (by justifying ammo capacity and mag interchangeability) also end up purchasing a whole new G19... which begets a G26, then a G17 etc...

I would be interested in knowing (even roughly): How many 43X owners feel the need for higher (more than OEM) capacity mags and actually buy some?

And of these owners, how many Shield 15 rounders did they purchase? I ask only because we used to have regularly recurring threads asking "how many G19/G17 mags do you have?" and get posts like 6 for each gun or 25 total or some crazy numbers like that. So if G43X owners only buy 1 or 2 higher capacity mags, why would Glock go to the trouble of redesigning their tried-and-proven plastic clad mags for a "small" market. Or put it another way, what is the annual $$sales$$ for Shield mags? And is it worth it currently for Glock, considering they are producing pistols at capacity?
