Bingo. If Glock did a 5.7 pistol, I'd question their sanity. I don't need glock to be innovative. I need them to not mess up a good thing like they've done in the past a few times.

 

One reason is it's significantly longer than anything Glock does use, so it would take a redesign.

 

Why doesn’t Glock make a 5.7 pistol? Probably for the same reason they don’t make a 30SC pistol.

 

It won't share frames, mags, or slides with other calibers. Nobody really wants it.

What "governments and securitiy" are you referring to?

Why not the Tokarev, or the Makarov? no $$$$

 

my gut tells me they will eventually. Especially if 5.7 continues to grow and ammo prices continue to decline

 

The only pistol I have other than all of my Glocks (9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP) is a FN FiveseveN. Like Glock, FN perfected its design decades ago. I am fine with Glock doing what it does best! BTW, the FN FiveseveN is a lot of fun to shoot and very accurate with the 195LF ammo.

Given that other manufactures already make 57 pistoles, why does Glock need to make one, or why won't you buy one of the others?

 

So the guys with the Glock ones never have to clean them until 100,000 rounds?

 

They would have to make a whole new frame size to fit it.

They’re trying to let the other guys like PSA, S&W, Ruger and FN have a little bit of the cheddah.

 

Well with that logic I’d say they didn’t make a rifle so they could let everyone else make some cash.

 

It seems like a cool caliber but I don’t really know what I’d do with one.

Why would they, makes no sense to get into a caliber and whole different slides, frames , mags, PARTS alone would expand the factory outlay let alone customers. No they are out till it makes sense.

 

Try calling Glock Customer Service and ask them. Who knows what they will say

I think it would be a good venture for Glock to add a 5.7 pistol.
Im sure adding the G44 and the G42 have added to the bottom line.
Love it or hate it, if they aded the 5.7 it would be their second lowest recoiling round and probably their highest capacity round.
And with 5.7 ammo being sub .50 and arguably good ballistics, they could make money.

 

I hear ya, FN changes the grip angle and it feels thinner than my G20's and G21's.

IIRC, terminal ballistics researchers are not impressed with 5.7.

 

Only pistol, even with a 4.8" bbl, that defeated 2 layers of level 3a body armor.

Considering that 5.7 has been standardized by NATO there probably is money in making a 5.7 pistol

Ruger, S&W, and PSA have come out with pistols in 5.7 so there’s apparently a market for it

 

Buy the FN 5.7, drimel and stipple the hell out of it. Do a 25 cent trigger job to it and etch G5.7 on slide and call it good.

Glock will make a 5.7 when they make a production G23X..

 

Why? because their engineering dept is still working on the design for a functioning 9mm carbine.
