I've been looking for a used/new Glock 34 slide and people are asking ridiculous prices for them. For an OEM used glock complete upper, I could buy a complete, brand new Glock with case and mags. Anyone know any vendors selling OEM gen 4 Glock 34 slides either complete or stripped for a decent price?

Probably the same reason around here people are asking more for used glocks than I can go buy in a store brand new.

I got lucky and bought a few slides from eBay for a good price, you just need to be there on a daily basis. Gen4 usually are a bit cheaper than gen3 they are more desirable.

The Gen 3’s are more desirable than the 4’s since the P80’s require Gen 3 slides.

The reasonably priced aftermarket slides are starting to flood the market. I doubt the factory Glock slides will take much of it hit though, many people are convinced that only Glock can make gun parts.

What's uglier than a OE glock slide? The aftermarket slides.
In addition, the aftermarket is unlikely to have the steel nitriding. After the internal parts and the barrel (which also will not be nitrided), the cost is going to be similar.

Folks can sell slides but as soon as I put brass or bullets up eBay takes it down (well, almost).

How many times have I spoken to someone in India about inert brass cases and bullets, can't be fired, can't hurt anyone, doesn't work without powder, primer and a firearm.

If you can buy a whole new pistol cheaper, get it.
Put the rest that you don't need in the back of the safe, and file it under Parts. Next time you may want something else.
Buy another pistol use the other half. Pull out the spare, and put the two together new pistol, or more parts.
Kind of like bringing home a piece of a car every day and building a new car like Johnny Cash's Song.

The people buying the slides and building polymer80 don’t have to pass a background check. The seller then sells the frame to someone for cheap because it does go through a background check. The problem is those slides have serial numbers on them and when you find a new frame for cheap it’s slide is in the hands of someone who couldn’t pass the background check. Right now if you wanted a new Glock all you have to do is part out the old one on fleabay.
