The Marxist dogs at google return bad search options.

Who makes the best threaded barrels for a Glock 17 Gen 5?

Define "best", because that's subjective. Glock has made OEM threaded barrels for years, and they work great. They've even released threaded barrel ("TB") pistols with suppressor sights.

Fair question! Let me give a brief background. I carried a Gen 3 G17 in a Galco Royal Guard for about 14 years. A year or so ago I bought a Gen 5 G17 for carry and like it. Due to age and bad eyes I have recently switched to RDS. I just bought a Gemtech Lunar 9 (1st Suppressor!), that I want a threaded barrel for, as I will also use this gun as a bedroom nightstand pistol, that I'll use to get to my Daniel Defense MK 18 if bad guys show up at my home. Other than that, the threaded barrel/suppressor will be used for entertainment purposes at my local ranges.

I posted this because 3 pages deep into a (leftist lying dog faced pony soldier) Google search I was getting wildly variable results. So thanks to responses to this thread, I'm looking at Glocks site and see a few results that leave me with more questions. Whats the difference between the LH/RH threaded barrels? And all the results show "Not Currently Available""

So whats a rather ignorant old guy to surmise from that?

So earlier threaded barrels from Glock had a metric left handed (LH) thread pattern. Argument was that the LH threads prevented the can from coming loose. The current threaded barrels Glock is selling for Gen 5, and putting in the Gen 5 TB guns are RH threads. Those are more common among can and comp vendors, although I've never had a problem getting the right piston for LH threads for any of my Glocks.

Lately, seems like a serious run on threaded barrels. Even the G44 threaded barrels are scarce. I don't mind waiting. They'll be available eventually.

For a while, Gemtech also sold the LH threaded barrels for Glock, and they came in Gemtech blister packaging. It was amusing, as the barrels have the AT roll mark indicating they were made in Austria, but the Gemtech packaging said "Made in the U.S.A.".
