Which sights to purchase?

I'm thinking of buying the Ameriglo Trooper Sight Set for my Glock 43X, but I'm wondering if they're worth it considering their cost: $120 on the Ameriglo website. Does anyone recommend something else--a different style, a different brand--that they've found works really well? Right now, I have the stock sights on my gun, and I'm just not that impressed with them. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Troopers are my favorites. I like the Hackathorns and Agents as well but the edges on them are sharper and irritate my skin while riding in a vehicle.

Watch for sales at Optics Planet. I think I bought my last set for about $90 with free shipping.

There are several sight sets that are very similar to what you have listed.
They have subtle differences and your price is about $20 high buying from the manufacturer.

Yellow or orange front sight ?
U-notch or square notch rear ?
De-horned ? (some will have smoother edges)

Trijicon are nice but are always a few bucks more.

The wife has a Vickers Special Edition G43 and it came with a Wilson Combat rear and Ameriglo front.
You can get the pieces at Wilson Combat.

Brownells sells Ameriglo Agent for $98 and they are almost identical to your Trooper sights.
Glock sells Ameriglo Bold which is similar to Agent except square notch.

Many options.
Your pistol is a "Slim Line" so make sure you buy sights for the narrower slide of the G43.

I spent the money on the Trijicons for my 43X. I wanted to like them so bad. I found that narrow front sight post was just not providing me with the accuracy Im used too. And during the daytime the rear sight is basically all black and too dark for me. Reluctantly I ripped them off the gun and put on the Truglo TFX Pro with the tritium green and orange front sight. The rear is super bright green during the day, for me it was worth the switch as i really like bright clear sights, i dont think you can get much brighter or clearer than these. I know the Trijicons are popular, but not if you want bright sights.

This ^^^ is a perfect example of how subjective sight preferences are :

Sounds like the original sight was a Trij HDXR with the thinner front sight blade designed for more precise, longer range shooting (XR = extra range).
The standard Trij HD has a thicker front sight blade, more adapted to closer ranges.

An all black rear sight is preferred by many shooters for outdoor shooting.
Very typical in a competition sight set.

A shooting buddy loves the TruGlo TFX but they are "too busy" for me for daytime shooting.
Maybe night shooting, I would like them.

There are a couple of Ameriglo sights that I own and recommend. Ameriglo PROTECTOR or I-Dot. They both have the same front sight, the LUMI-GREEN. The front has a tritium vial plus a glow-in-the-dark circle. This front sight is one of the best I’ve seen. I love it.

The PROTECTOR has two rear sight options, but plain rears with no tritium. The I-Dot has a single tritium creating a “figure 8” sight picture. Cost on Amazon will be between $60 and $80. A 3 tritium system will cost a bit more.

Have you tried any of the XS Sights? They make several models of sights, some of them available in suppressor height. Back in the day I used to install 3 Dot Trijicon sets on semi-auto pistols, but a few years back I went to XS Sights DXT Standard Dots. Now that the newer version of the DXT (DXT2) is out, XS stopped listing the DXTs' on their web site, but they still sell them. I don't know if the DXTs' are old stock, but I prefer them to the DXT2 (in either Standard Dot or Big Dot), and XS Sights has a "No Questions Asked Warranty" (to the original purchaser) for 12 Years so they'll warranty them if they stop glowing.

Anyway, I like the DXTs' design because the DXT's shallow "V" rear sight doesn't obscure the area around the front sight like notched rear sights do. This very simple sight system is low profile with smooth edges so it works well for CCW. Just "dot the i" and WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what you-get). One caveat is that users who mount a Big Dot Set may have to enlarge the front sight channel on a Kydex holster. Shooters with leather holster may be SOL (unless your holster manufacturer can tailor the front sight channel to accommodate the Big Dot front sight).

Below are some photos of a (XS) DXT Standard DOT Set mounted on a G43X "Rail" (G43X Slide mounted on a G43X/G48 MOS Frame). Glock sells this configuration in Europe as the "G43X Rail".

Mockup G43X Rail with XS DXT Standard Dot Sight Set:

Just "dot the i" and WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what you-get):

For size comparison here's a photo of a G19.4 (on left) with XS DXT Standard Dot Sights alongside a G19.4 MOS (on Right) with XS DXT2 Big Dot Sights:

It's probably just me and my inexperience with shooting, but I find them difficult to see/line up in certain settings. I shot a 1911 with an orange front sight, and I really liked it. I thought maybe if I changed out the stock ones on my Glock for something brighter I would have an easier time.

I like blacked out rear with big dot front. XS or similar quality. I'll sacrifice 50 and 100 yard capability. It's a defensive handgun after all. Can't do 3 dots anyone not even competition guns. Not even sure why people are buying up all these huge bright rear sight sets. Most everyone I know that trains with them takes a black sharpie to them.

What I gave was my opinion based on my EXPERIENCE. That isn't "bias". It's not like I didn't give valid reasons why I didn't like the Truglo sights and state how the construction wasn't ideal FOR ME. One other thing that I didn't mentions is that the TFX Pro rear has some really sharp corners. More than once I got caught on an edge or a corner with a fair amount of bleeding. I did keep the rear on with the Ameriglo front for awhile after dehorning it. They're in my bin if someone wants to make me an offer for them.

I bought them because they were highly rated and they were my first set of night sights. Not as bright at night as straight night sights or good in the day time like regular fiber optic sights. I probably took them off faster than you did.

I have these XS sights on my 43x and have been quite satisfied. They compare favorably to the Ameriglos that came with my 19.
