Well after several years of thinking about getting one I finally got a Shockwave.
I got the 12 Gauge with the Crimson trace saddle, red.
Now I am thinking about a mount and light to put on it for Home Defense.
I have looked at the gccg ?
That is flat and fits behind the barrel but I have read on amazon reviews that it will bend easily .
I have also read of one that basically fits right at the front of the pump.
I have also thought about just mounting a rail on top of the crimson trace saddle but don’t know how easy that would be to activate with my thumb.
It seems like one of the mounts that fit on the front would give me the easiest thumb activation I am thinking that with the light sticking so far off the gun that it will take away from the trim lines of the firearm and be prone to catching on things.
And I do not want the light sticking out past the barrel.
On the other hand mounted on a rail on top of the crimson trace laser saddle will keep the trim width but make it taller at the receiver and maybe turning the light on more difficult ?
And I will pretty well lose the ability to just look down the barrel at the bead.
I am wanting a light that is reliable and bright enough to not only identify the bad guy as truly a bad guy and not the wife who sleeps in the Other end of the house or one of our 4 kitty cats .
As far as what I am willing to spend on the light I would say somewhere around $125.00 ish
Of course if I can spend less to get a reliable light I could do that too.
Save my money that I have worked for for 50 plus years(I am 60 now)
Save it for if and when I can find some low recoil 12 gauge 0 or 00 buckshot .
Anyway I sure would appreciate some information about these subjects.
