I've been researching which mag release to get for my G43 as the factory one is a little too hard to actuate. I looked at the Hyve aluminum one and the Tango Down one that's polymer. Which one do you all prefer?

:agree:

I also use the Vickers and like it.

I have no problems with the stock one. What issues are you having? If it's a finger reach issue, not sure if the aftermarket ones will help. I find it easier to actuate if I rotate my thumb a bit and press with meaty part of the thumb near the joint (vs using the tip of the thumb).

If you are going to carry the 43 it would be wise to leave the oem one in place. It's good that it is firm as you dont want to inadvertently drop the magazine

In a small carry gun I would prefer for the button to be hard to activate! Keeping the ammo supply in is far more important than a split second faster mag change. I have seen lots of guns with extended catches barf the magazine at unexpected times on the range heaven forbid it happens in a defensive situation

As much as I like Vickers, I prefer the stock release on the 43.

Sort of a necrothread but the Crux did not work on my 43 at all. I really liked it, the extra round bump just feels more refined than the factory release, and it's just slightly taller. I did notice that it didn't seem to have as much spring tension as the factory unit, the spring "slot" appears to preload the spring less. The big issue was once installed I could not reliably get my factory mags to seat easily, they took some fiddling to get them to stay in. Once in I never had one drop while shooting. Swapped back to the factory release and everything was fine again, tried it again same problem, back to factory and fine. So while I really wanted to like it, the factory release went back in. In looking at the release area where it grabs the mag compared to the factory it looks like the Crux has less relief and is a bit thicker and the mag is either not getting "in" far enough to easily engage it before bottoming on the grip, or the magazine notch is too narrow to quickly/reliably hold. I thought about messing with it or modifying a test mag to see what would make it work but that was just too much hassle.

I have the Crux Ordnance unit in all three of my Glocks. Very high quality piece and it doesn't stick out too far to be a problem, but provides me with much more positive feedback of where the mag release is, compared to stock. It is the only modification that I have made to my guns.

I have the hyve love it also have them in my other glocks, as well as the crux which is in my carry gun, only one downfall on the hyve is when you carry it in your front pocket the mag release sticks out just enough to release it, but it doesn't when carrying AIWB, never had any issues with it or the one in my G19 in those carrying positions..
