So does anyone have a definitive as to what model Glock in 9mm did Eli Dickens have that faithful day that he took out the mass shooting threat in Greenwood Park Mall, Indiana? My educated guess would be that it was a G19? but since it is popular as of late perhaps it was a G43X that is optics ready and he may have had a red dot that might have helped a bit with that distance.

Given that there will not be any court action related to this case, there's no reason any information about the gun or ammo would come out through LE or judicial / legal sources (ie it being brought up in court.) The only way we'll ever know is if Dickens discusses it himself.

It doesn't matter what gear Mr Dicken used, if anyone else owning/using it doesn't have a similar skillset and presence of mind to be able to use it as effectively under similar circumstances.

My guess is if he had a .25 or a J-Frame he would of used what he had. The reports about him shooting, moving, all while evacuating people suggest to me that he was in the fight and not just a shooter. The 80% hit rate at 40 yards has us ready to write him love letters. He is a hero but just as important are the things he did while engaging in the fight. I admire him and hope he can move on with his life as just a regular guy after this. Should any of us be faced with a similar fate may we perform as confidently and heroically as this man did. Have a good day.

the average shooter would have a hard time hitting a moving target at 40 yards who by the way is returning fire in a building with many other people also moving around.
It's not the same thing as the "stress" of competition or banging shots at a target at your friendly gun range.
And as John Wayne said its not just being fast.
Its being willing.
No amount of "range" time is going to determine if you are willing.

What does it matter which weapon he used?

Why do people obsess over what others carry; SEAL's, Force Recon, USMC, JTTF, CIA, NSA, and any other alphabet soup group are not YOU. What matters is what weapon do YOU shoot best. Instead of investing in blasters used by others. Find your best pistol and train with it diligently. Keep beating your last best score every time you go to the range. That's the way to improve.

Maybe it was a G18 and his grandfather, who may have been awarded a MOH as a machine gunner in Nam, may have taught him trigger control. Maybe not. Maybe it was a G34, cuz Eli looks like a big guy and he could totally pull it off AIWB. Maybe not. Maybe I will just wait until Eli or LE tells. The reality is the gun was a tool and Eli was the weapon.

JUST for all the haters. It was a Glock 23 because he liked it and shot it well..............

I dont care if it was 17L with a Deltapoint PRO. He shot with incredible accuracy at the critical moment.

He should be awarded free gas and ammo for life.
