I have an opportunity to purchase a spanky new LE6920 Magpul edition from a police officer. He does not have the box or manuals, and only one magazine. He is asking $800. It seems like a decent price... is it?

See if you can weasel him down a little. If the rifle is a configuration that you like, and indeed in spiffy shape, the whole 'unfired/brand new' doesn't signify, and once you buy a new one, it becomes 'used'. I like a good deal as well as the next man, but nickles and dimes aren't worth the stress.
BTW, we are experiencing the Biblical '7 fat years', and there will surely be lean ones to come. Get your stuff now.

As regards the boxes, I try to keep them all. The now departed, malf'ing Sig MPX carbine didn't have a box, and I had one hell of a time packaging it to go back. They returned it a factory box, and their service was great, but the gun still wasn't reliable....

I have their handguards on some Colts and like the feel, but that is a very subjective thing.
