What do I need to set up the RMR correctly?

Hello all,

So I just acquired a Trijicon RMR RM06 red dot for my 17 MOS. I have run a Shield RMS on this same gun, but wasn't impressed with it's lack of weather protection and durability. So now, hopefully, I have upgraded. I have heard stories about the RMR shooting loose on MOS guns and that they are not supplied with the correct threads. I also hear that you have to buy some type of gasket or film to line the bottom of the RMR if you want water proofing.

So I am reaching out to the Glock experts to help me set this thing up correctly. Please let me know just what type of gasket, screws, loc-tite and whatever else you think necessary. Also, I would like some sight suggestions. I just want plain black sights that are just tall enough to clear the optic and with a thin front sight. Times are tight and I want to do this right the first time. I already blew $400 on the Shield!

Actual purchasing links would be greatly appreciated!

So for those of you who have been down this road already, what say you?

I have an RM06 for my G19 Gen5 MOS and I used the Trijicon mounting plate kit that includes the sealing plate and the correct length screws to mount the RMR. I used blue Locktite on the screws. Can’t help with the sights since I used Trijicon tall suppressor white outline night sights. Hope this helps.

Assuming your iron sights are shooting to point of aim You should be able to adjust dot to cowitness with your iron sights when pointed at 15 yards Go to range and test.

Good luck. I use Ameriglo suppressor height iron sights, black rear and NS front (from Amazon). My holster is by Vedder and cut for the RMR and with a suppressor height sight channel. Looks like you got the rest of the info you needed, so load up and go shoot.

When should the RMR sealing plate be used?
The RMR sealing plate should be used if ANY of the following are true:

1. Mounting surface is interrupted, or
2. Mounting surface has through features, or
3. Mount surface does not fully encompass sealing boundary

I just installed my new Trijicon RMR Type 2 LED Sight 6.5 MOA Red Dot Reticle, Black RM02-C-700607 on a G35 MOS. I got the Trijicon RMR MOS kit with plate and screws and using the 02 MOS plate got everything installed quickly. I'll shoot it in a day or two.

I got the non-adjustable/continuously-on model and it's not as "cool" looking as the adjustable model but if I ever want to carry with a red-dot then I need a sight that just works, like a Glock just works. It just hacks me off that the sights cost almost as much as the gun!
