I’m aware of Sphynx, and I think one other out of Switzerland, but that’s about it.

Otherwise, does CZ-USA put out custom models, similar to what Springfield Armory does with their guns?

My needs a met as far as CCW goes, with my 9mm XD-S, but I have a CZ Shadow 2 I really admire, and I was wondering if there might be a comparable model out there that compares to it, at least on the level of quality.

Note: I’m not looking for a chopped down target pistol with a featherweight trigger. Just something that shares the smoothness and relative refinement.

These guys put out custom CZ pistols;

Take a look at Cajun Gun Works. They specialize in CZ's. They can take your plain clone or CZ and upgrade it to your wants, from a spring kit to a package. They keep an inventory of factory parts and their own. I had a phone conversation with Dave years ago and he was super nice and helpful.

IWI Jericho

Yes, the IWI Jericho comes in several variations. My buddy is a big CZ 75 guy and he says the IWI is a more refined CZ 75. I own several IWI weapons and they are high quality. Hope this will be helpful for you. Regards to all at GT but never to the morons that put A hole (current occupant) in the WH. LET'S GO BRANDON

Canik's CZ 75 clones imported by Tristar are great pistols and a very good bargain.

Phoenix of Switzerland makes the best pistols ever to use the CZ design, including far above CZ itself. The Redback is the best one currently imported into the states. I've got a couple of them and they are two of my finest pistols of any design.

For a bit less money, the Phoenix Fusion is also a great option of high quality...

Oh man, you've got to get your hands on a Phoenix Redback. You'll definitely rethink that statement. :)

I've got CZ's best pistols and as nice as they are, they don't compare to a Redback.
I completely forgot about Phoenix. I feel those are in another league because of the price. I’ve only seen a redback once and was very impressed

True they are in another league. The OP mentioned Sphinx and I know Phoenix is the successor.

I’ll be getting a Phoenix Drake whenever they’re finally approved to import.

Man those Redbacks are🔥🔥🔥

Yes they definitely are.

They are an updated and improved Sphinx 3000. Mine are all steel and near 50oz with an empty mag. You can get the Light and Ultra Light models as well. The Light has an aluminum grip. The Ultra Light has an aluminum grip and frame.

They are three pieces, much like a 2011

I just have the CZ 75 Compact PCR, then the CZ-97 in 45. I’m very smitten by both.
I’m aware of the Cajun Gun Works services, at this point, stock is fine.
I feel CZs are def good enough how they come. I have a Cajun P01 and it is fantastic but I wouldn’t carry it as the trigger is somewhere in the 3 pound range. I might send my Rami for a carry package but I think CZs are some of the best out of the box non boutique pistols out

This is an older thread, but I have a question. I've had my eye on the Redback for some time and will eventually get one because it seems so fine. But what about the Fusion? I've seen people say, it's "Better" than a Shadow or TSO, but I want to know exactly in what way? Fit, finish? Functionally is the trigger better or is the gun more shootable? If just fit and finish, I'll stick to the standard CZs. I prefer a less finished all iron gun with a great trigger and precision than the most finely finished and fitted polymer handgun. I'm just saying I see the appeal of the Redback, but so far I'm skeptical that the Fusion is for me, but I'd like to be sure.

I prefer the Cz over the Redback. But I'm talking about single action Cz TS2 vs Redback SA. I haven't run the DA/SA pistols side by side.

Cz is all black.

Trigger has a better shape. I prefer that triggers have a curve at their top and bottom to index my finger. The Pheonix has a plain straight trigger. That's a deal breaker for me.

Cost. The Pheonix is up in Atlas land.
