Title says it all. Looking for RDS for my 43X MOS for EDC. Considered Swamp Fox Sentinel until I found it goes dark in the dark, which doesn’t make sense in a dark defensive situation? Ideally I would like it to set as low as possible and without using an adapter plate. Top or side battery replacement would be a plus. Always-on or Shake-n-Wake preferred. Reliability and long battery life would be nice and all this with a price that doesn’t exceed the price of the pistol.

Your options are

Trijicon RMRcc
Shield RMS
Swampfox Sentinel
Sig Romeo 0
Holosun 407/507k (with adapter plate)
Zaffiri’s new sight (can’t remember the name)

I have two sentinels and a Romeo 0. I love the sentinel. I have around 1500 on one sentinel and have had zero issues. Both of my sentinels are the shake awake model so I don’t have the “darkening when it’s dark” issue I assume that’s a feature of the auto adjust version so it’s not glaring/blurring in the dark. I have ameriglo night sights and get a low cowitness that I think it perfect. The Sig Romeo 0 is fine and I have also had no issues I just like the aesthetics of the sentinel a little more. I can’t speak for the others but I only hear good things about everything other then the zaffiri that was just released this week.

I am late to the party, so perhaps this has already been answered, so apologies.

I have purchased a G43X MOS. Will the Swampfox or the Holosun mount right onto the G43X MOS without requiring additional machining or modification?

The Trijicon RMRcc REQUIRES a specific mounting plate that elevates the RMRcc to above slide level, and quite frankly, looks ridiculous.

The slide was made for the Shield RMSc(England) and the hole spacing matches up perfectly without a mounting plate. There are 3-4 other brands on the market that also have the same hole spacing as the Shield RMSc

Glock customer service was absolutely no help. Trijicon told me the mounting plate was mandatory and part number of it.

It ain't easy to design a small low profile RMR where the irons can be seen and co-witnessed. This RMRcc is the perfect example. Why Trijicon introduced it, I have no idea. Nice pics. I have had the glass Shield RMSc on my Hellcat for over a year and am perfectly happy (except for the <1 year battery life).

I have been researching the same. For direct mounting the 43X MOS uses the Shield footprint (maybe not the best choice Glock could have made).

Red dot sights that share this footprint:

Also, these were just announced recently and are for sale directly. I would buy one, but they have a tiny 3.5 MOA dot.

Okay, thanks for all the input. I returned the Lasermax guide rod and mounted the Sentinel with no issues.....will work on getting the red dot to line up with the factory sights. Right now it isn't close.

Another disappointment.....the 43X MOS doesn't seem to lock into the trigger guard or even git properly unto the Aliengear holster!

Holster fit could also be due to the MOS rail vs non MOS without rail.... Have to specify a holster for gun with rail to get proper fit.
