I want to get a new 40 pistol, but really want SAO. I know sig makes the X5 in SAO but its extremely high priced, and Springfield makes the EMP in 40, but I want a full size pistol. What other options are out therE?

The Springfield XD and XD(M) are single action only pistols. They are fully cocked on loading and the trigger press simply fires the gun.

EAA Witness (Tanfoglio) Elite Match and above are single action only. I have an Elite Match chambered in .40. It has a very nice trigger for an over-the-counter pistol.

I believe the original poster's question was looking for a nice crisp SAO. You'll not get that with any striker fired pistol.

I need to learn more about the hi power. I am intrigued. Plus, i desire SAO, true SAO

Hi Powers are great guns. I have a few in 9mm.

I heard they quit making the BHP in 40.

They generally do not have a very good trigger out of the box, but I use a bone stock MK-III in IDPA and the trigger is plenty good for that kind of stuff.

You can get the SIG P250 in .40 sw SAO. I have the P250 and have the caliber exchanges for .40, 9mm, and .45 acp. It has been a great gun for me. You can get the .40 for about $369 right now.
