I know it sounds dumb too many? but a 26x (26 slide 19 grip) is the one new Glock I’d like to see out, and I think would be great for me.

Now I love my 26 a lot, likely my favorite of all Glocks. But even I realize I’m never going to have as secure or fast a draw or as good a retention with it as a gun with more grip length (more capacity also never hurts). Reloads are also a bit sketchy as I have to kind of grip the gun like a teacup to get my pinky and ring finger out of the way of the incoming magazine.

Extended magazines or grip sleeves? Well they fix the draw issue..sort of..but leave you with a wonky backstrap hump in the middle of the grip, and do absolutely nothing for the reload issue.

Regular 19? Well it’s ok by me, but as I carry outside waist band (IWB never worked in 20 years of Glock carrying for me) shorter slide is better. Decreased sight radius is no big loss, 26 slide has plenty and even a bit of an advantage in older eyes like mine. Lighter weight 26 slide benifit, but still enough to avoid the 43/43x greater muzzle flip seems good to go. Likely even better with the longer grip attached.

Not that Glock listens, but just pontificating my desire I guess:cool:

Years ago, I ran across a guy who was modding G26 frames to accept a G19 magazine. I don't think he is doing it anymore. He cut and heat melded the grip and "cleaned it up" with a decent stipple job. I bought one on a sort of a whim. It's one of my best shooters, but it's relegated to the nightstand.

Looks like another dude is doing it now. I have no experience or knowledge, but it's out there:

Here's the search. Couple of options out there:

Could just use an X-Grip with a G19 mag -

That would get you to 99% of what you want.
True, but it's not quite the same as a consistent, stable grip. I use them for G29, G30, and 19/23 simply as it's the best offering I know of to date. I'd pay the coin for a legitimate version not requiring the X-Grips.

I'm not really sure why, but I've always shot my G26 with the +2 better than I shoot my G19s. It defies reason, but it is a thing. Even with the "26X" setup, I shoot it better, significantly better shot placement and followups. It could be totally psychological, but I think it has something to do with the grip contour, but otherwise 🤷‍♂️.

I understand the OP

But I much prefer a gun that I can make longer by choice. Not many guns you can make shorter by choice unless they have the chassis system like Sig.

My 26 can have the flush, a +2 or the longer mags. The 19 can’t get any shorter.

Just my take.

Thats actually really common, Mas Ayoob wrote an article on it with examples.

I “shoot” my Glock 26 as well as my 19, but I certainly don’t draw or reload it as fast. Splits suffer only slightly.

I shoot my G26, using the +2 extensions, better than my G19 too. I prefer the recoil impulse of the G26 and I think the hump in the backstrap of G26 interfaces with my hand better than the G19. It‘s the only rationale I have for it.

Nah. Just add a 15 round mag and a sleeve. 26X.
