It looked pretty nice . Had a set of Truglo fiber optic brite-site sights on it. And the price was right. The gun had one of these special locking mechanisms where you could not disassemble the gun to check out the inside. The guy says to me there's no gunsmith at the store that could satisfy my request to see how it looked . Seems like only Fudds work at Cabelas these days. If I am purchasing a used gun for whatever price, I should be able to inspect the gun upwards and downwards, inside and out. No dice. So I walked away. So Cabelas is now pretty much locked down with most of their merchandise due to so much theft occurring these days. Sad.

A lot of the folks behind the counters at stores like Cabela's know little to nothing about the products they sell. If for any reason you don't reassemble the G42 after inspection the only option for the store clerk is to throw the parts in a box and put it aside for somebody that knows his arse from a hole in the ground. Could be a while.
