If anyone has ever felt the standard mag release was too small, or like me finds that it digs into your middle finger, I suggest you try the oversize mag release.

It's standard issue on the 45c and let me tell you what, it makes a heck of a difference on my USP 45 Compact. It's much more comfortable and it's easier to manipulate it over the standard one.

For a $23 part, it was well worth it and needless to say, I'm getting one for all my USP and P2000 variants.

I too love the extended mag release.
And have put them on my twin P2000 357s and my P2000SK 357.

My latest acquisition is a 2013 USP45 Tactical.
I put one on that gun and it started dropping mags during live fire!
Went back to the factory release and all is well.

Deanna, I know you appreciate a fine trigger on a gun.
The factory Match DA/SA on my USP Tactical is outstanding.
But being a Light LEM guy, I had it converted to LEM Match Hybrid.

The clouds parted and the angels sang...

Dropping mags in live fire is likely a grip issue. A friend of mine shot my HK45c and the recoil caused him to hit the magazine release because he refused to grip it like I showed him. If your thumbs are low, or crossed, or doing anything other than being in the proper forward position, this tends to happen in the recoil.

The larger magazine release is nice, but I never had an issue with the one on my P2000SK. The P30 however, has to be the easiest/fastest pistol that I've ever been able to do a reload on though.

That's never happened to me with dozens of handguns.
And tens of thousands of rounds.
Never Ever.

I've got a P30 40 S&W and HK45C with basically the same mag release.
Added the extended mag release to my two P2000 357 Sig
and my P2000SK 40 S&W/357 Sig guns.
That's over seven thousand rounds
with five guns having that style mag release and and zero mag drops.

People can definately can hit the mag release,
slide release or limp wrist a gun and cause malfunctions.
But that's simply not the case.

The issue for me with the standard release is they way it digs into my middle finger. It just plain hurts after a while. The oversize release seems to have eliminated that problem.

I fired 150 rounds today without any discomfort at all. I can't believe I put up with that for this long. I should have changed over to this release a long time ago!

When I first got my P30 I was dropping the mag occasionally during recoil. That went away quickly though. I still don't know how I was doing it but it had to be a grip issue.

I am giving up on LEM and going back to DA/SA. I just cannot shoot it well and it is not much fun. I think I am finally about to pull the trigger on a new USP Compact and the first thing I am going to do is install that larger mag release!

If you're going HK DA/SA?
A USP45 FS Tactical comes with a factory Match trigger.
IMHO the match SA trigger is outstanding.

My P30 mag release has me spoiled.

I have been looking at getting a P2000 when I get back to the states for a while now and doing research on it I found that swapping the mag release for the hk45c one was pretty common practice. Especially with the price point being what you stated, why the hell not?
