Hey guys, I recently bought an upper parts kit from KM tactical to put in a slide. They say they're OEM factory parts and listed all the parts numbers so I figured they were good. I got the kit yesterday but when I put everything there were two issues. FYI I put them in an aftermarket slide first. Once I had issues I put in the stock 43X slide... still same issues.
1 - The guide rod did fit into the slide and would not seat. I didn't realize this and put the slide and frame together and almost could not get them apart. I noticed the guide rod was crooked and no matter how I tried to jiggle it it would not seat completely down into the muzzle end of the slide.
2 - The striker in the firing assembly is different. I had my OEM one and compared the two side by side. On the replacement the nipple at the end of the actual striker was much less angled. The stock striker had a much longer angle to it. When performing the "safety test" per the handbook, I held the muzzle end of the gun down pressed the safety plunger and tried to get the striker to fall through the breech face.... it wouldn't. I pushed the back of the sear and there was resistance but it came through. It is extremely stiff and does not fall back and forth when the safety plunger is pressed like it is supposed to.
Hopefully that made sense, if not let me know. Does anyone have experience with this? Is there a break-in period for new replacement OEM parts? Are the striker's supposed to have identical nipples (lack of a better word). Thanks for any help.
