Hey all,

Well I thought I had it figured out. Get an Uberti made Peacemaker clone to have fun with in the near future. I had read many times that Uberti made pistols are made a bit better than than Pietta made counterparts.

I had a couple emails from magazine writers telling me that I should look at Pietta and that they are tops in the Clone makers.

Since I don't know of a place close to me that I could handle these clones and ask questions of a knowledgeable shop owner or 'smith, I have to rely on what I read on blogs, magazine sites and the like. Then I come and ask you guys to further help me out. Which, quite frankly, I trust you fellers much more than the other resources I mentioned in getting the FULL and REAL SCOOP on this stuff.

So, in your experience and knowledge, who makes the better clone, Uberti or Pietta?

Thanks once again everyone.

Not even a contest, Uberti all the way. Although I do remember that Uberti has been bought out by Beretta but still, Pietta is ok but Uberti is Da' Bomb.

Uberti does it right. Pietta does it inexpensively.

Pietta isn't a bad manufacturer and have been making muzzleloading firearms for more than 40 years. But they have never been top shelf.

I haven't looked at, or shot any newly made Uberti and Pietta revolvers for quite a while......but, years ago the Uberti was clearly the better of the two.

WHEW! Glad to hear I am not going to have to start looking at more clones in the Pietta line. Looks like it'll be an Uberti for me unless I could find a deal on a USFA Rodeo....

Thanks all

Had an Uberti "Cattleman" clone of a Single Action Army (1873)...

Fit and finish were decent, but I had a timing issue, and the hand spring broke in short order...

hand spring is only a $12 part...but still....Ruger from now on!

Don't have an 1873 but my 1858 Remington is an Uberti. Compared Uberti to Pietta before I bought mine and I chose the Uberti.

Uberti would be my recomendation for for the most part all the same as Pietta, Pietche, and Pedersoli to my knowledge are all owned by Uberti which is in turn part of the Beretta Family. Most of the cowboy action clones you see these days are Uberti imports or one of their subsidiaries that have been relabled and tuned a bit per the importer. Basically you have Ruger, Colt, USFA, and Uberti. There is another european company that makes crap though I cannot remember their name. Also the Uberti revolvers and rifles are made to spec to my knowledge so the parts are even interchangeable with the original counterparts in most instances.
