Trijicon RMR HD worth the extra $$?

For those who have made the upgrade, do you think the switch is worth the money? What do you like so much more about it?

I have 5 pistol RDSs. 3 are Trijicon, but one of those is not on my Beretta 1301 12g. I've been eyeing the RMR HD and keep talking myself out of it because I feel it will be more difficult to conceal on my carry gun. Right now I carry a G19 and while I conceal it very well AIWB, the corner of the RMR is sometimes a small challenge not to print. If I go with a larger RDS like the HD, I'm afraid I might have concealment issues.

I have five Shadow Systems guns. Three have optics, all Trijicon, an SRO, and two Type 2 Adjustable RMR's 3.25 MOA. I was thinking about getting the HD to mount on my fourth full size gun, but when I saw a few of them mounted on a few guns at the NRA show last Spring, I thought that they looked big, particularly on some of the compact sized guns. So that said I think I'll just buy another Type 2. I think the HD is good optic, but save for the top loading battery feature, and the front sensor, I don't think it's really doing enough for me to shell out an extra 150- 200, when the type 2's work well enough for me.

Same materials and housing as the type 2
Top loading battery, Holosun’s reticle and updated windage and elevation adjustment. Same footprint as the rmr but a slightly larger viewing window.

For me, it doesn’t justify the cost over my type 2’s. I do like the reticle options but also own a couple of 509 T’s with the closed emitter that offer the same reticle options.
A few good features that are available on the HS’s and the trijicon name
For IWB, not sure it’s worth it as well

I’m more interested in the RCR frankly.

Value is up to you but I wouldn't buy a type 2 today.

While the window is only nominally larger, the lower 1/4th of the type2 window is not usable because the emitter housing blocks it.. So you actually gain quite a bit of useful window with the RMR HD and RCR. Both the RMR HD and RCR are a superior design to the type2.

LE around here has made a substantial move towards dots. There are a ton of RMRs floating around out there, with a sprinkling of HDs. My primary exposure is new guys in a multi-agency academy, where the guns get run a bit harder than among the cops in the field.

The HD has not shown itself to be anything worth the extra expense.

I have one, they are nice but was recently in the marked for another optic and went with the RMR Type 2 adjustable. If they were the same price I may go for the HD again but at the price they are now, which is higher than I paid new, I don't think they are worth the extra price.

I moved my RMR HD over the Glock 20 and it is holding up fine with the hot 10mm handholds. Plus I think it's a better fit on the larger frame gun and the type 2 on my carry gun.
