So, I am trading a new AR 15 for two Glocks. Only has 20 rounds through it and it is a CMMG Mod 4SA lower with Armalite 20" upper.

Trading it for a new Glock 19 and a Glock 23. This will help me in that my wife likes the G19 and I want to get her shooting and I could use a g23 to keep my 21SF company. Hate to get rid of the AR but for two Glocks, seems worth it. I know AR rifles are about to be in higher demand and prices will rise... Your thoughts?

why is this a bad idea? I have $786 into the AR...

thanks. guess I bought the AR "right." I know prices will rise. Would love to take my wife shooting so that is my motivation (her having the G19 which fits her). Thanks for the replies...

It's still a bad idea, a Glock is going to run you @ 550 new. Save one or two hundred dollars a paycheck and you will have your glocks. I've benn tempted to sell my Yugo Ak which I bought a year before the election craze, but evey time I get close I can't part with because I will never be able to afford a rifle like that ever again. And if you must part with I'll make a deal with you right here.

I want badly to trade one AR I have, but much like some in this thread have mentioned there's good odds it will be worth far more if I wait a while.

So I'm sitting on it, just waiting.

Sell the AR? Come on DD I know money's tight but there must be some other toy you could part with to get the wife the G19. As others have mentioned you 'may not' be able to get one as cheaply in the future (or right now for that matter as mentioned above), and I know 'I' would be kicking myself seriously in the rear for parting with one right now. Glocks are not too expensive. I'm with those that say hold on to the AR, and find elsewhere or save the money for the Glocks you want to get the wife shooting.

Sounds like a fair trade dollarwise to me. Whether it fits your personal needs or not isnt something anyone here can answer.

Not enough info to allow for intelligent response. What other guns do you have? If you only have one semi-automatic rifle, then hell no keep it-you've already got a great glock!

Do you have rifles? Do you have a place to shoot them? Do you live in the city/suburbs/sticks? Do you reload? Do you shoot a lot? WHAT PURPOSE DO YOU WANT THE FIREARMS TO FILL? If you really want the Glocks now, then by all means trade. The 9mm and .40 cartridge is cheaper than the .45ACP...which is the only reason why I have a 22 and not a 21. I say it's a good deal...NOW, but if you wait six months, you would want three glocks for your AR. ...CHECK THAT- you would get three glocks for your AR.

It all depends on your situation.

Get what you want and what fits your needs---if S Hits T F--- the pistol could be more usefull since you can conceal it and keep a lower profile.

ie--not drawing attn to yourself.
yeah, it'd be very useful in that scenario... assuming you weren't having to fight with it, in which case, they suck.

OP, do what you want, but you'd be crazy to get rid of that ar for a couple of glocks...hell, I'll give you a couple of glocks for the thing..

Once s*** hits the fan, why conceal?

I just did the opposite...kinda. I traded a Glock21sf with 4mags for a M & P 15 with quad rails, simmons red dot, bsa laser, and flashlight attachment, and vertical fore-grip. I threw in $400 and also got the original S&W carry case.

I still have my Glock19, which I wouldn't get rid of for anything.
