I've been away for a while, health issues last year (read...rehab involved), and decided to retire at the ripe young age of 53! So I don't have quite the disposable income I used to have but still manage to buy guns here and there. My newest is this Tisas B9R DS...their 2011 attempt I suppose. My buddy has a Staccato, and this gun is not that, just to be straight up. But for $749.99 plus tax, it is good for the price. I did my research before hand, have had a very cheap but very reliable Tisas 1911 Tanker in the past so didn't hesitate to pick it up.

Some may not like Turkey guns, to each his own, but overall, not a bad gun at all. Decent trigger, quality is good, and I took it straight from the store to the range. Shot 300 rounds through it, 200 rounds of FMJ, a mixture of 115, 124 and 147gr. I also shot 100 rounds of JHP, Federal 124gr Punch and Ranger 147gr. No issues, worked like a charm out of the box. I am going to shoot the piss out of this thing, so time will tell how reliable it is.

I'm really curious how it holds up. Please keep us updated. Especially when you get into the thousands of rounds range.

I've been fondling this same pistol the last couple trips to my LGS. I like it and have yet to see a bad review. Most are very positive. I'm pretty tempted to make a stop on the way home from work tonight.

Very nice.. so you too right to the range, did you do anything to it first? Did you oil it up? Or shoot it dry? Just curious..
I like that you said it handled the HP’s without issue.
Wasn’t interested in 2011’s but getting curious., and no way could I afford to spend 2k or more for one..
Congratulations on your new purchase.. looking forward for more reviews from you..

The shop oil it a bit, so it was not run dry.

I feel that if you don’t mind Turk guns this is a good way for people to try out the platform and see if it’s for them.
Yep. If it proves to be reliable and perform over time it will be a good option for people. I'm contemplating getting one too and running it in some of the brutality matches that I do with my staccato and see how it holds up

I’d be curious to run a BUL against the staccato and see how they stack up against each other.

I am a Tisas fanboy, three 1911s (two 45s and one 9mm) and a pair of PX9s. They do what they are built to do, enjoy yours! IMHO, Tisas puts into a pistol everything it needs and leaves off the frippery.

For those who like shootin’ irons and not trophy queens, Tisas are great.

Yeah Don, but the high end 1911’s will always shoot best and be the most durable.

I know they get babied sometimes due to the price, but that’s definitely not their intention. They are built for high round counts and hard use.

Yep. No one can accuse me of babying my staccatos

Glad you are doing better. Welcome back and congrats on the new gun.

And I don’t dispute what you say, Brian… is a Bugatti Veyron better than my VW TDI? A Vacheron Constantin watch better than my Seiko with the 8F32 movement? It kinda all depends, doesn’t it?
