Harder to do the custom RXM's if they don't provide the base to do them. Guess I could sacrifice a frame for the extra length and patch together, but I would hate to do that. If they had planned better, they could use the same FCU for the sub compact and full size. They may still be able to use the same FCU for the full size, but it would need front rails and or some type of stop in the frame. If they do front rails, it may not qualify to be a non-serialized part. The sub-compact just won't work with the current FCU. As it looks now, each one will have its own serialized FCU and that will kind of defeat the whole purpose.
If they do a true subcompact, like G26 length slide assembly, then yes. My understanding, though no where near as technically detailed as yours, is that the RXM keeping the 4.0" barrel slide assembly can go into whatever grip length module. It doesn't seem like it's an issue. Now, yes, if they do an RXM sub, then yeah, and this is why we're probably not gonna see a slide shorter than this one.

Glock 45 and 19X also show us that we probably won't get a longer one. Personally, if a true full length dust cover Glock 17 like RXM was available, I'd go buy one. Today.

With that said, their next model looks to be a 19x sized and that one will work with the current FCU. However, who knows when that's coming? They have had it listed with pics for something like 8 months maybe more with none in stock to sell.

If they ever come out with a G19x size grip, you can easily covert to a G47 sized weapon like I did with the G49/19L I built.
