A good holster is the way to go.
I tend to agree here, although Ive tried most methods you can think of at some point. A few of those, reinforced the holster idea. Most of that was simply security of the gun more than it was safety.

I know its common and generally just regurgitation (with no real experience) on the "you have to cover the trigger" thing, but Im going to suggest, that you vet it yourself, and then make your own decision. I know a lot of people are scared of it, but I have to ask, what are they "personally" basing it on?

After constantly being told "you cant", as an experiment, I started carrying a second, unloaded 17, just stuffed in my waistband, every minute I was at home, for about a year and a half. Its actually still kind of going on, as its the same Gock I use daily for dry fire, and its always close by.

In all that time, doing everything I was told not to do, including, stuffing it in my pants, pockets, picking the gun up "by" the trigger off table, drawing and "reholstering" (no holster), etc, working around the house and yard, doing everything and anything, I never once found the trigger had dropped on its own, or unintentionally. The only way it did, was when I intentionally pulled it.

My experience is, if youre the least bit reasonable/realistic in your gun handling, its really a non issue. But the only way to really prove or disprove it, is to give it a good try, and see for yourself.
