Not everyone is out to buy the least expensive firearms on the market. Money is completely relative to a person’s situation and means.

I’ve always been amazed at the lengths the Taurus faithful go to defend the brand on this forum.

Are they as horrible as they used to be? I think not.

Are they near as good as the mainstream players? Absolutely not

I'm not going to buy something more expensive with diminished returns just because I have the money and can afford to. I don't care if I hit the billion-dollar lottery; I'm not going to be one to throw away money for stuff I don't need just because I can afford to. I am also mature enough and am not a snob to the point that I feel the need to buy the most expensive option on the market and then run around trying to convince everyone else who went the less expensive or Gucci route that I'm superior to them. I'm also mature and objective enough to look at data without preconceived notions and biases. You've seen to have already come to the conclusion that the PCC in the OP isn't going to last before it has even been released and is based on feelings and not any facts about the gun. I'm the type of person who wants to see reviews, testing, personal firsthand experiences, and actual facts, not conjecture, before I decide what I'm going to buy. Like I said originally, if it proves to be a decent gun based on real-world data and facts, I might pick one up.

Other than that, for lots of people, these types of budget guns are just range toys and plinkers. They don't see themselves as the tactical SWAT types who need the most expensive, battle-tested go-to-war gun for when our first-world country is invaded. Everything doesn't have to be a zombie apocalypse, WROL, SHTF gun. They don't need every gun they own to be the most expensive or top tier. There's absolutely nothing wrong with buying a budget gun just because it's expensive and will be fun to shoot. For those who have to buy reliable budget guns without all the bells and whistles and the best fit and finish because that's all they can afford, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that too.
Ah ok

So if you chose to buy a gun nicer than those among the least expensive on the market, it thereby makes you an immature gun snob?

I certainly understand the idea behind inexpensive guns and those you don’t mind t“roughing up”. All I’m saying is inexpensive is relative.

Taurus is fine if it’s your thing. The notion that you’re giving up nothing to a higher quality gun and that people that prefer a better gun are wasting money is absurd.
