Hey Gents! Somebody told me this is rare. Is that true or BS? Paid $350.

The G19 RTF2 regular serrations is a little more common, but limited numbers.
The G22 and G23 are more common.

Completely intact texture on these is everything [value/price].

As Danke mentioned it is the best Glock frame texture ever!

I am fortunate to have 5 RTF2 Glocks, 17, 2 19's, 21, 23

One is not enough

Nice pistol!

The RTF2 is the best grip texture GLOCK has produced for achieving a secure grip on the firearm. The one big downside is it will wear through your clothing, which is one of the reasons GLOCK modified the texture for the Gen 4 guns. I love the feel of the RTF2, it’s the only texture GLOCK has used that helps with grip under various conditions. The other textures used by GLOCK leave much to be desired.

RTF2 was used on a number of factory produced guns and special edition guns, so I’m not sure I’d call it rare, but they are far less common and often sought after.

Congrats, it sounds like you got a nice deal!

I wouldn't say its rare, more along the lines of uncommon.

I would say that looks like the recent (2017??) run RTF2 because the slide doesn't have the slick black fry pan like finish of the original 2009-2010 ish time frame ones.

$350 is a great price. Looks like its in good condition.

The sights would be something I would change on it after a detail strip and inspection/cleaning.

As noted by others, not rare, but certainly not common. It is a grip that is sought after by some (as you can see in this thread!). I have a G22 in RTF with gills. The grip is abrasive compared to other Glock textures, so those wanting a secure grip seem to love it!

You got a good price and a good gun. It isn't collectable, but it will hold its value as well as any other Glock with the added benefit of being sought after by a smaller pool of people, so you might even get a small premium should you choose to sell it!

Good find! Congrats!

They told us in a couple of armorer updates that the RTF and RTF2 models were limited to small production runs (plural) of 2500 units each time they made a run.

Interestingly, we were also told the first RTF's were originally made at the request of an America military unit, specifically to address a problem they'd experienced with grips being slippery in wet conditions while wearing gloves. Apparently, there was no further interest expressed in making more for the military.

It was said the company later decided to offer a commercial production run at the request of one of their normal vendors. The runs we were told about were G19's and G23's (Gen3's), of 2500 units each. There were supposedly some C models made with those frames, too. Not being interested in 'collector' models, I didn't pay much attention.

It wasn't hard to hear of owner complaints of the RTF2 texture being really abrasive and hard both clothing and skin, but it did help make the grip frames less slippery. :p

Congrats, though, if that's of interest to you. :) The pricing is whatever the market will bear, and you're willing to pay.

As JasonC8301 has stated. It appears to be a "new release" from 2017. Those have the parkerized style finish. Not the later style frying pan finish. The way to tell is the serial number would be a 4 letter prefix from Austria starting with a B for the newer non frying pan finish. If its the older frying pan finish I think they were around a N** prefix 3 letter. Im not 100 percent on the frying pan model as I dont have one. No matter what finish it has you got a great deal on it. And yes its collectable. There people that love that grip. Myself included. Its by far my favorite factory grip texture.

The 9's in RTF are rarer than .40. You sure did well at $350.

I have 2 RTF's, both .40 w/ the gills.

I got my 22 from Recoil for $420 plus the tax n transfer etc.
I just got my 23 at a pawn shop for $375 OTD this week. but I know a guy there. they had them listed for $459+tax.

I always have a hard time w/ used Glocks because I can get a new one blue label for $400. but I need to check that at the door and remember normal people pay $550 or so retail plus tax, and Glock ain't gonna make em again.

PS I have a gen 3 22 (first gun) and a 23.5. So yes doubles of both. But that RTF is killer and they're always something I have wanted.

The same thing happened with the OD GLOCKs. They initially weren’t well received and you could get them at a discount at one point. Once people could no longer buy them, they started trading at a premium. People started collecting them and then GLOCK crushed the collector value by issuing more years later.
