Went hunting for a rifle suppressor host and came across this SA rifle. It came with a Viridian Eon scope (cheap).
Gave it a once over and lubed up the bolt and dialed it in. The glass is nothing to be proud of but I after about a dozen rounds I was grouping right at an inch and a half with CCI's at 50 yards.

The factory 3.5# trigger setting is a bit heavy so I'm gonna drop it down to the 2.5# setting but overall it was a pleasure to shoot. I'm going to update the glass at some point but the Eon did what it was supposed to do.

Anyone else pick up one of these or it's bigger brothers?

I know there are a few owners here. Could be a nice little host for you. Hopefully it'll give you some good groups once you find some ammo it likes.
The platform got big poo poo online.

I had no malfunctions with 200 rounds.

The accuracy was plinker grade but I wasn't anywhere near my A game. Time will tell.

1.5 inches at fifty is horrendous for a 22. All the reviews of this rifle I have seen ( a Turkish made import with the Springfield name slapped on ) have been universally negative

a decent 22 should be under 1/2 at fifty with appropriate ammo

if you are using decent ammo ( as a general rule ANYTHING made in the United States is NOT decent ammo ) that is fully unacceptable performance

Yeah, I saw all the hate for 2 MOA, the problem I found was no one, for the most part could actually produce better than what they were hating on with a better rifle with the same price and scope bracket.

There were **** talkers all day long.... There was was very little evidence.

Granted I only had 300 rounds but I had acceptable results.

If 2 MOA is "horrendous" for you, I'd love to see your 4 MOA milspec M4 in action.

Sometimes you understand what is possible, sometimes you understand what is acceptable,.

I’m a sucker for highly figured walnut. I ran actoss a couple of the wood stocked 2020’s. The cheaper one with the satin finish was actually nicer wood than the Grade A ( there are AA and AAA grades too), but it has a gloss finish. I thought the cheaper one was beautiful. The photos didn’t really capture it. Only accurate rifles are interesting though, at least for that price. I already have my Marlin 25’s and others for plinking.

The accuracy claim is laughable. That much is assured. I barely did my part today and it was "acceptable".

I wouldn't have paid for Turkish wood. I don't entertain mach .22LR ammo.

I'm bulk pack only and the CCI did what I thought it would suppressed.

I barely did my part today so I know I can shrink up the groups..

For a 22 with match grade ammo, sub 1/2 inch50 yard groups (roughly sub moa ) should be the expectation.
even my humble savage mark II ($250 rifle and $300 or so optic) will run sub 3/4 at 50 easily. Mid tier quality ammo like eley club or SK pistol match
I'll only be shooting bulk so I may never know.

My local shop has one of these rifles and I almost bought it, but people who I respect online have said it is not a great rifle. $499 out the door with a pic rail and decent stock, but to me personally, a complete unknown.

I went with the Ruger American ($349 and came with the high comb stock insert) and put a Ruger Precision rail on on it, O got 1/2-3/4 inch at 50m from a rest with the right ammo, right out of the box. Trigger was factory set @ 2.8#. I am sure with more ammo testing and a trigger job it will get better. Crown is excellent, action is tight and it uses the best mags ever. Not threaded, but that can be added if needed later.

I have 6 or 7 scopes on hand, and will try them all. Right now it is wearing a 3-9x40 UTG, one of the best cheap scopes on the market. I'll try a Vortex, Weaver and Busnell tomorrow when I am out pilinking.

(trigger job turned out great. Already down to 1.5#. I love working on Rugers)

I didn't do a lot of research before picking this one up. It seems I got a better than usual barrel. I wasn't disappointed with what I was shooting although I wasn't having the best range day to begin with. I had zero failures of any kind with bulk ammo.
